About the Role
As a part of the Global Medical Communications, Capabilities and Education (MCCE) team, the Medical Event Project Manager will lead and orchestrate Global Medical Events execution, coordinating global and local cross-functional teams to transform strategic objectives into successful and compliant execution, while adhering to budgetary guidelines and business ethics.
Medical Events Planning & Delivery
- Primary Point of Contact for logistic questions: Act as the key liaison for all assigned medical events, streamlining communication and facilitating smooth operations. Collaborate with other project managers as needed to distribute responsibilities based on event complexity and scope.
- Cross-Functional Connectivity: Establish and maintain strong links with Asset Teams, Cross-Functional Teams, MCCE, Affiliates, and logistics agencies to ensure cohesive collaboration and effective event planning.
- Global Medical Planning Leadership: Drive global medical planning teams, actively engaging with key stakeholders to achieve alignment on objectives and strategies to optimize delivery.
- Logistics and Participation Management: Oversee event logistics, including the coordination of ancillary meetings and affiliate attendee participation, ensuring seamless execution and addressing logistical challenges effectively.
- Agency Management: Manage external agencies responsible for logistics and other functions, providing oversight and challenge to ensure high-quality deliverables.
- Event Monitoring and Evaluation: Monitor all medical event activities before, during, and after the event, ensuring adherence to plans and identifying areas for improvement and success.
- Continuous Improvement: Pursue excellence in medical event execution by consistently seeking opportunities for optimization and implementing best practices to enhance outcomes.
Budget Follow-Up & Contracts
- Purchase Order Management: Create and manage Purchase Orders, verify invoices, and track payments to ensure accuracy and timely processing.
- Budget Monitoring: Actively monitor and manage the budget for events, ensuring adherence to financial guidelines and resource allocation.
- Service Contract Development: Collaborate closely with Corporate Legal Affairs, Center of Excellence for contracting, Purchasing, and Ethics & Compliance teams to create and manage service contracts with HCPs, and suppliers, ensuring all agreements meet company standards.
- Administrative Support: Handle general administrative duties as needed to support event planning and execution.
- Ethics and Compliance Oversight: Ensure all actions comply with company ethics and policies, proactively identifying and flagging potential risks to maintain the highest standards of integrity.
Qualifications
- BA diploma
- Strong experience with direct and sole accountability for planning, management, and oversight of all aspects of executing pharmaceutical and/or biotechnology programs, and medical events
- Demonstrated competencies in supporting/working in high-level organizations.
- Knowledge, understanding, and experience with pharmaceutical regulations such as (HIPPA and the Sunshine Act)
- Previous project management experience
- Hands-on working experience, knowledge, and understanding of both the conventional and pharmaceutical industries, as well as business practices that support best-in-class medical event planning management and execution within the healthcare industry
- Fluency in English
