Noïa Labs is an early-stage neurotechnology company building the next generation of human-AI interfaces.
We are working on one of the most ambitious problems in human-AI interaction: creating a more natural way for people to control, guide, and collaborate with AI systems by relying directly on brain activity. Our approach combines optimized non-invasive neural sensors with large-scale AI models trained across many users to decode human intent from brain signals, without surgery. Noïa Labs was founded by the team behind NextMind (acquired by Snap) and is backed by tier-1 investors.
We are at the beginning of the journey and are building a team of outstanding engineers and scientists where each person can have a major impact on the product and technology.
We are seeking a talented Senior Mechanical Engineer to design and build the physical form factor of our non-invasive neural interface. You will work on the mechanical architecture of a wearable system that must be comfortable, reliable, manufacturable, and capable of acquiring high-quality neural signals.
This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys creating innovative, high-quality products while iterating quickly in a fast-moving startup environment. The role spans product architecture, CAD, prototyping, sensor integration, ergonomics, materials, manufacturing and reliability, while working closely with electronics, neuroscience, and product teams.
Design and iterate on mechanical components for our wearable neural interface.
Build mechanical systems that balance comfort, reliability, and manufacturability.
Integrate sensors and electronics into compact wearable designs.
Produce CAD models and technical documentation.
Evaluate design options, materials, and technologies through experiments
Test prototypes, analyze failures, and improve designs
Work with suppliers and manufacturers to turn prototypes into products.
5+ years of experience in mechanical engineering or a related field
Strong experience designing and prototyping physical products
Strong CAD skills (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, Creo, NX, or similar)
Good understanding of manufacturability, materials, tolerances, and assembly
Strong ownership, practical problem-solving skills, and attention to detail
Experience with wearable devices, consumer electronics, medical devices, AR/VR headsets, headphones, smartwatches, fitness trackers, or biosensing devices
Experience with products using optical, ECG, EMG, EEG, PPG, or other physiological sensors
Experience with ergonomic design, comfort testing, skin-contact materials, or adjustable mechanisms
Experience supporting early manufacturing, supplier coordination, or EVT/DVT/PVT builds
