As Technical Packaging Engineer for the EMEAI scope, based in Paris, you will be responsible for defining, validating and optimizing packaging solutions for a diverse portfolio of beauty and personal care products, with a strong focus on fragrance projects and glass packaging. You will play a key role in ensuring that our packaging is technically robust, sustainable and compliant, while guaranteeing product protection, product compatibility and an optimal consumer experience.
This position requires a strong combination of technical expertise, rigor and project management skills, in a dynamic, cross‑functional and international environment.

Collaborate with Product Development, Marketing and Operations teams to ensure that packaging solutions meet brand identity and client requirements, with a priority on fragrance initiatives.

Conduct material analysis and testing to ensure packaging integrity and product compatibility, with specific attention to glass bottles and fragrance components.

Optimize packaging specifications for cost‑effectiveness, performance and manufacturability at external partners.

Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards applicable to cosmetic and beauty packaging.

Manage packaging projects from brief to launch with external manufacturing partners, including timelines, deliverables and budgets, with a particular focus on fragrance programs.

Evaluate and propose new packaging technologies and more sustainable material options, especially for glass and fragrance packaging.

Troubleshoot packaging‑related issues identified at suppliers or during product launches and provide technical support to internal teams and external partners.

Create, update and maintain detailed technical documentation, including packaging specifications and development files.

Work closely with suppliers to source and qualify materials and components that meet IBG quality, performance and sustainability standards, particularly for glass bottles and fragrance components.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering, Materials Science or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.

5+ years of experience in packaging, preferably in the cosmetics, personal care or fragrance industry.

Strong knowledge of packaging materials, manufacturing processes and testing methods.

Experience in the development of glass‑specific products/processes (e.g. perfume bottles).

Familiarity with CAD software and 3D modelling tools for packaging design.

Fluent in English; an additional language is a plus.
