The role will be employed by Setec Offshore Wind and assigned on a full-time secondment basis to Setec Sealand, a company dedicated to offshore engineering solutions headquartered in Aberdeen, Scotland.
The T&I Lead Engineer is responsible for the technical leadership, coordination and management of offshore engineering consultancy activities within the Paris office. The role combines engineering oversight, project delivery, team management and office coordination responsibilities to ensure the successful execution of tenders, projects and internal work scopes.
Acting as the in-country engineering lead, the position requires close collaboration with the UK team and wider Setec Group to ensure alignment of technical approaches, resource planning and project delivery. The role also contributes to business development, team growth and the continuous improvement of engineering practices.
Support the activities of the business as required in the capacity of T&I Lead Engineer, providing both technical leadership and front-line management for the Paris office and assigned engineering teams.
Take responsibility for the safe, efficient, technical and commercial delivery of assigned tenders, projects and internal work scopes in accordance with company procedures, client requirements, and agreed delivery objectives.
Act as the primary point of contact for clients in relation to assigned tenders and projects, maintaining strong professional relationships and ensuring effective communication throughout all phases of project execution.
Lead and manage the production, coordination and review of engineering deliverables.
Perform Inter-Disciplinary Checks (IDC) and technical reviews of engineering deliverables produced by internal personnel, partner offices, and subcontractors to ensure technical accuracy, consistency, and quality.
Monitor progress of work scopes and deliverables against project schedules, allocated budgets, and resource plans, maintaining regular communication with clients, Senior Management Team (SMT), Discipline Leads and wider project stakeholders.
Coordinate, facilitate, and participate in technical reviews, design reviews, HAZIDs, workshops, constructability assessments and project coordination meetings required as part of tender and project execution activities.
Manage subcontractors, suppliers and external consultants as required, including technical oversight, scope management, commercial coordination, and performance monitoring.
Provide senior technical support for offshore installation and operational scopes, including addressing operational queries, reviewing engineering risks and approving technical solutions where required.
Attend client offices, fabrication sites, ports, vessels, and offshore locations as required in support of operational projects, installation campaigns, surveys, and business activities.
Plan, allocate, coordinate, and supervise resources assigned to internal and external projects, ensuring effective utilisation, workload balancing and alignment with business priorities.
Support tendering and business development activities, including client engagement, technical proposal preparation, methodology development, budgeting, resource forecasting and strategic growth initiatives.
The role is primarily office-based in Paris, with regular interaction with international teams and potential travel to other offices, client locations and offshore sites depending on project requirements.
