The Hotel
Langley Resort Fort Royal is a beautifully located beach resort on the island of Guadeloupe, just outside the charming town of Deshaies. Set along a dreamlike Caribbean beach, the resort offers a wide range of services, activities and excursions to our international guests.
We are now looking for an experienced and driven Sous Chef to join our kitchen team for the high season.
About the role
The main restaurant at Fort Royal serves international cuisine with clear local influences for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Our beach bar offers a wide selection of drinks as well as simple meals and snacks. We aim to use fresh, local products as much as possible and work sustainably to minimise our impact on the environment.
Your responsibilities include:
- Supporting the Head Chef in the daily operations of the kitchen
- Ensuring high and consistent quality of all dishes served
- Leading and motivating the kitchen team in the Head Chef’s absence
- Contributing to menu planning and implementation with a focus on local ingredients
- Securing food safety, hygiene and cleanliness according to our standards
- Assisting with ordering, stock control and cost awareness
This is a hands-on role in a dynamic resort environment with high guest turnover during the season.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar senior kitchen role
- Formal culinary training is an advantage
- EU passport or valid visa/work permit for Guadeloupe
- Good communication skills in English
- Experience working in a multicultural team and with international guests
- Enjoy an active lifestyle and feel comfortable in a high-tempo environment
- Strong sense of responsibility, teamwork and a positive attitude

- Period: May to August
- Salary: Negotiable, based on experience and qualifications
- Lodging & food: All meals included during working period. An accommodation allowance is provided for external accommodation.
