Context:
In the scope of brake system sizing and optimization by simulation, we are proposing an internship for 3 to 4 months.
The brake system (caliper only) has to fulfill many requirements such as performance, durability, NVH, etc.
Some of these aspects can be evaluated by simulation only when the brake caliper design (3D model) is available, but some aspects of the performance can and need to be investigated earlier during the pre-design phase. It is the case for example for fluid consumption, drag and rollaway.
Missions:
Main tasks will be:
- Understand the brake caliper behavior, and especially the physics behind the phenomena that will be simulated.
- Write equations for 1D simulation of the various physics identified.
- Implementation either in Python or Matlab/Simulink.
- Identification of input parameters based on available test data or Finite Element Analysis.
- Correlation of simulation output with test data.
- Implement the framework for multi-objective optimization.
