Tesla’s energy projects are powering Europe’s renewable revolution. As a Civil Engineer on our EMEA Energy Projects team, you’ll ensure our Megapack installations—from the North Sea wind farms to Mediterranean solar parks—meet stringent European standards for safety, sustainability, and efficiency. You’ll have the opportunity to influence design standardisation across projects and drive the rate at which storage can be deployed. Your work will directly support Tesla’s mission to accelerate the continent’s shift away from fossil fuels.
What You'll Do
Design Review and Technical Expertise

Site Layout Optimization: Balancing land constraints with accessibility for Megapack units & HV equipment

Ground Engineering: Assessing soil behaviour in diverse environments (reclaimed ground in port areas, brownfield former fossil power station sites)

Foundation Design: Meeting relevant Eurocodes and local regulations while optimising for cost and installation efficiency

Stormwater Management: Complying with the EU Water Framework Directive (WFD) and local flood risk regulations

Validate designs using redline review software, AutoCAD & Revit against Tesla’s global standards and European code

Identify local / country specific requirements and ensure design compliance
Field Support & Quality Assurance

Investigate site issues raised by project teams (e.g., uneven settlement in reclaimed land, drainage bottlenecks in heavy rainfall zones).

Collaborate with contractors to resolve technical challenges while adhering to project timelines

Undertake quality inspections on site at key project milestones

Update Tesla’s civil engineering guidelines based on lessons from EMEA sites
Innovation & Process Improvement

Redesign layouts to reduce material import and export

Propose innovative foundation solutions to increase deployment speed and decrease cost

Develop reusable template designs for EMEA projects
What You'll Bring-
Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Civil Engineering

5+ years of experience in utility-scale energy or industrial projects across EMEA region

Fluency in civil design software and understanding of European & international standards (Eurocodes, CEN/ETSI).
Preferred Qualifications:

Professional certification (e.g., Chartered Engineer - CEng, or country-specific licenses like Ingenieur (NL) or Bauingenieur (DE))

Experience with Tesla Megapack projects or similar energy storage systems in Europe

Experience in both design and site based roles.

Multilingual skills (e.g., German, French, Dutch) for cross-border collaboration.
