ROLE PURPOSE

Work closely with the France Operations Director to drive People and Culture strategies across the French market

Lead all HR operations in France
-
Deliver a high level of HR service and foster a best-in-class work environment to attract, retain and develop top talent

Act as a role model for the company’s values and principles
RESPONSIBILITIES
Business
-
Support leadership in defining and evolving the organizational structure
-
Build and implement a 1–3 year HR strategy aligned with business objectives
-
Support operational leaders on day-to-day HR matters
-
Oversee HR policies and tools
People Development
-
Oversee workforce planning and succession planning
-
Lead talent development strategies and processes (training, performance, promotion) in collaboration with HR teams
-
Drive employee engagement and motivation initiatives across all levels
-
Manage and optimize the training plan and related legal obligations
-
Oversee Diversity & Inclusion initiatives
Compensation & Benefits
-
Manage bonus and incentive schemes across all levels
-
Benchmark market practices and advise leadership on compensation trends
-
Lead annual negotiations with employee representatives
Employee Relations
-
Act as escalation point for complex employee relations matters
-
Coach managers and employees on HR topics
-
Handle sensitive disciplinary and grievance cases
Employee Representative Relations
-
Ensure effective communication and partnership with employee representatives and works council
-
Lead complex discussions with unions alongside relevant stakeholders
-
Chair the Works Council (CSE)
-
Act as key contact for external labor authorities when required
-
Ensure proper application of collective agreements and legal requirements
Payroll & HRIS
-
Oversee payroll operations, systems, and processes
-
Optimize payroll processes to ensure accuracy and data quality
-
Act as decision-maker on HRIS and payroll-related changes
-
Collaborate with European and global teams on systems and improvements
Labor Relations & Compliance
-
Oversee labor relations and ensure full compliance with local regulations
Management
-
Recruit, build, and develop a team of HR professionals (generalists and specialists)
Additional Responsibilities

Build and manage the HR budget, including vendor selection

Ensure accurate HR reporting

Continuously improve HR processes and tools

Collaborate with European and global HR teams

Contribute to cross-functional and ad hoc projects

Represent the company externally when required
Background
-
Master’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field
-
Significant HR experience (10–12+ years) in a generalist role, including payroll and labor law
-
Experience in retail or hospitality
-
Experience in an international environment
-
Experience in Management
