Global Market overview
Nomura's Global Markets business facilitates client transactions for a diverse group of institutions including corporations, governments and investment funds around the globe. In addition, we act as market makers, trading in fixed income and equity securities, currencies, derivatives as well as structured financial products.
Nomura Alternative Investment Management (France) S.A.S ("NAIM") NAIM is an investment management company of the Nomura group. Based in Paris, NAIM is regulated by the AMF and offers expertise in fund structuring, portfolio management and risk management. It aims to develop and manage best-in-class quantitative or structured funds using quantitative and systematic investment strategies (“QIS”) of the Nomura group. NAIM implements investment solutions for investors and managers in different formats:

Program overview
Internships are a great opportunity to experience first-hand the possibilities of a career in Finance. It is your chance to get a feel for our culture, create new networks and gain valuable on-the-job training. This is an opportunity to work with NAIM team in Paris for a period of 6 months. Candidates applying to this vacancy must be fluent in English.
Your role
This role sits within the NAIM Fund Structuring, Operations & Services team (FSOPS).
The team combines Fund Structuring and Operations functions.
Operations work closely with the Portfolio Managers, the Risk Managers and all other support functions to enable the business to grow in a controlled environment. Operations includes Middle Office and Reporting responsibilities.
Fund structuring involves funds set-up and managing the project with all the teams involved in an efficient and timely manner.
During your internship, after relevant training your core mission within FSOPS will be to, amongst others:

Perform portfolio reconciliations, confirm accuracy of trade bookings

Trade confirmation and settlement with brokers and custodians
-
Collateral management for OTC products (FX Forwards, Swaps etc…)

Daily control and validation of fund NAV
-
Establishing active and efficient interaction with Custodians, Fund Administrators and Transfer Agents in order to rapidly solve potential issues arising

Producing client reporting and marketing materials (Factsheets, Pitch-books, Board packs, DDQs)

Producing regulatory reporting (EMT/EET, EMIR, PRIIPS KID, UCITS KIID)
You will also have opportunities to be exposed to the Fund Structuring activity depending on projects and specific needs, which may include:

Supporting Funds’ product management through their lifecycle and governance: creation, modification or liquidation, committees & boards preparation

Preparing answers to RFPs, due-diligences, client reports, fund Awards participations

Supporting project management liaising with functions or third-parties including QIS Structuring, Portfolio Management, Legal, Compliance, Fund administrators, Custodians, fund database providers, etc.)

Key requirements:

On course to complete Bachelor’s degree (second year minimum), or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Management at a Tier-1 University or Business School.

Attention to detail, willingness to work in an International/global environment

Team oriented, strong organizational skills and ability to work autonomously when required
-
French-speaking fluency and English-speaking fluency an absolute requirement
-
A first experience in the Banking/Insurance/Asset Management/Finance sector is a plus

Advanced knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, - SQL, Python are a plus
