Seasonal Gardener - Beaumont Hamel F/M
We are looking for a Gardener F/M to join our teams at the Commonwealth War Graves Commission (CWGC) which honours the 1.7 million men and women of the Commonwealth forces who died in the First and Second World Wars, ensuring they will never be forgotten. Our work commemorates the war dead, from building and maintaining our cemeteries and memorials at 23,000 locations in more than 150 countries to preserving our extensive records and archives. Our values and aims, laid out in 1917, are as relevant now as they were 100 years ago.

Contract type : Temporary contract
Salary : 1 823.03€ per months - Meal allowance - Laundry bonus

Working hours: 35 hours annualised with flexible working hours ranging from 35 to 42.5 hours per week, according to an internally-defined schedule. Compensation in RTT.
Job Description:
As part of the cemetery maintenance programme and in compliance with the objectives and standards set by the Commission, the job holder is called upon to perform maintenance tasks under the supervision of a line manager.
Key responsibilities:

Carries out the planting of flower beds, under the supervision of a line manager.

Maintains the borders, flower beds, hedges and trees.

Treats the headstones as required and with appropriate training.

Maintains the lawn, and operates and maintains horticultural machines under the supervision of a line manager.

Carries out maintenance and cleaning of the horticultural base site and vehicles.

Upon detection of vandalism or deterioration, informs the line manager and the Administrative Department accordingly.

Generally speaking, participates actively in all the projects of the department and of the Commission, according to the needs and directives given.

Carries out work in line with the Health and Safety rules and procedures.
Profile required :

Basic knowledge of horticulture (diploma or initial experience is a plus)
