Serac is a global packaging machinery OEM specializing in filling, capping, and cup fill-seal equipment for the food, dairy, and beverage industries. Our machines run on production lines around the world, and our field service team is the reason they keep running. When a customer needs a machine installed, commissioned, or back online fast, our technicians are the ones on site making it happen.
As a Field Service Technician II, you are the hands-on expert who installs, commissions, troubleshoots, and maintains our cup filling, fill-seal, capping, and packaging machinery at customer sites across North and South America, with occasional international support.
This is a travel-intensive, customer-facing role for someone who already knows filling and cup-fill-seal equipment and thrives on solving complex technical problems in the field. If you like being on the road, working directly with customers, and owning a machine from startup to handoff, this is your kind of role.
Install & Commission: Start up new and refurbished cup filling, fill-seal, capping, and packaging machines
Troubleshoot & Repair: Diagnose electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and control issues to minimize downtime
PLC Diagnostics: Modify and debug PLC logic as needed (Allen-Bradley primary, Siemens a plus)
Customer Support: Train operators and maintenance teams, and support trials, upgrades, and cup-size and format changeovers
Preventive Maintenance: Perform inspections, upgrades, and reliability improvements
Documentation: Complete detailed service reports and feed root-cause findings back to engineering
Collaboration: Work closely with Electrical Engineering, Project Teams, and Global Service groups
Hands-on field service experience on filling, capping, or packaging machinery (cup-filling or fill-seal strongly preferred)
OEM or machine-builder field service background, not in-house plant maintenance
Hands-on Allen-Bradley PLC troubleshooting and logic modification (Siemens a plus)
Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting, including pneumatics and controls
Able to work independently at customer sites and train customer personnel
Associate degree in Electronic Technology or related field, or equivalent hands-on experience
You must live in, or relocate to, the Twin Falls or Boise, Idaho area, within one hour of a major airport (Boise preferred) for rapid deployment.
Candidates outside this region will not be considered for this posting.
90%+ travel, including short-notice deployments, weekends, and extended onsite stays
Domestic travel with occasional international travel (valid passport or ability to obtain one)
Valid driver's license required
Able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in industrial environments
