About the Role
At Fluidra, a global leader in pool and wellness equipment, we design innovative, connected, and durable products used worldwide.
To support our growing portfolio of electronic and IoT solutions, we are seeking a Hardware Industrialization & Process Manager to ensure our products are designed and industrialized to the highest standards of quality, reliability, and efficiency.
This strategic role sits at the intersection of R&D, manufacturing, sourcing, quality, and EMS partners, with a strong focus on early design-for-manufacturing excellence and global process harmonization.
Key Responsibilities
1. Hardware Industrialization
- Lead the industrialization of electronic modules and products, including:
- IoT devices and connected pool equipment
- Control boards, pumps, sensors, robotic pool cleaners, and water treatment systems
- Drive the transition from concept and prototype phases to mass production.
- Define and apply DFM / DFT rules adapted to harsh environments
(humidity, corrosion, thermal cycling, outdoor exposure).
- Manage EVT / DVT / PVT phases and ensure industrial readiness for global launches.
- Lead structured Design Reviews (schematic, PCB layout, BOM) and ensure findings are tracked to closure.
- Act as the DFM/DFT reference for R&D teams, providing hands-on design reviews and actionable guidance from early design phases.
2. Process Engineering & Workflow Deployment
- Define, document, and deploy hardware design and industrialization processes across Fluidra’s global R&D teams (Europe, US, APAC).
- Standardize workflows for:
- Schematic design & PCB layout
- Component selection & lifecycle management
- Library management and technical documentation
- Implement IPC-compliant design rules, guidelines, and review frameworks.
- Create templates, checklists, and handover packages for design-to-manufacturing transfer.
- Improve development efficiency through process automation, structured validation workflows, and version control strategies.
3. EMS Sourcing & Supplier Management
- Support the selection and qualification of EMS partners aligned with Fluidra’s quality, cost, and volume requirements.
- Evaluate supplier capabilities, factory processes, and IPC compliance.
- Work closely with sourcing teams on:
- Component sustainability
- Obsolescence and risk mitigation
- Lead-time and alternative strategies
- Lead technical workshops and audits with EMS and key suppliers worldwide.
4. Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate closely with electronics, firmware, mechanical, quality, and project management teams.
- Ensure early integration of:
- Industrial constraints
- Environmental exposure requirements
- Regulatory compliance (CE, FCC, UL, pool-specific standards)
- Establish feedback loops using manufacturing issues and field data to drive design and process improvements.
- Act as the key interface between R&D and Operations throughout the product lifecycle.
5. Continuous Improvement & Knowledge Sharing
- Lead initiatives to improve manufacturability, reliability, and cost.
- Introduce new tools, IPC best practices, Lean approaches, and structured problem-solving methods.
- Promote a culture of design excellence and process maturity.
- Design and deliver training programs on:
- DFX principles
- IPC standards
- Structured development workflows
across global engineering teams.
Qualifications & Experience
Required
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent.
- Strong experience in hardware industrialization, preferably in consumer electronics, IoT, or electromechanical products.
- Solid knowledge of PCBA manufacturing, testing, and assembly processes.
- Deep understanding of IPC standards
(IPC-2221, IPC-A-600, IPC-610, IPC-7351…).
- Proven experience working with international EMS partners.
- Strong DFM/DFT expertise and hands-on experience with EVT/DVT/PVT phases.
- Ability to define and deploy engineering processes from early design stages.
- Strong communication and leadership skills in a multicultural environment.
- Pragmatic, hands-on mindset with the ability to manage multiple projects.
Nice to Have
- Experience with Altium Designer or equivalent ECAD tools.
- Knowledge of pool and outdoor electronics constraints (water, corrosion, chlorine, UV).
- Experience with IoT / connected devices (BLE, Wi‑Fi, embedded systems).
- Familiarity with PLM / ERP systems and structured documentation flows.
- Lean Six Sigma, FMEA, or continuous improvement certifications.
