Who are we ?
École Jeannine Manuel de Lille, located in Marcq-en-Barœul, is a renowned bilingual international school. It welcomes over 1,000 students from Nursery to Grade 12, representing more than 60 nationalities.
Our mission is to promote international understanding through bilingual education. Within our Art Department, we consider artistic expression a fundamental pillar of our students' intellectual and cultural development.
The position we are offering
- Contract Type: Part-time contract – 11h/week.
- Start Date: 1st of September 2026.
- Location: Campus in Marcq-en-Barœul (Lille Metropole), France.
- Salary: Prorated based on the 11/18th workload, depending on experience and the school's internal salary scale.
Your Main Responsibilities
Under the coordination of the Art Department head, you will teach classes from Grade 6 to Grade 9 (6ème to 3ème). The language of instruction is exclusively English.
- Teaching & Pedagogy: Deliver 11 weekly hours of art instruction. Design, plan, and implement engaging visual arts lessons adapted to the middle school curriculum, encouraging students to experiment with various techniques (drawing, painting, sculpture, mixed media) and introducing them to Art History.
- Studio Management: Supervise and organize the art classroom (managing inventory, ensuring the safety of materials, and maintaining storage).
- School Projects & Life: Actively participate in the school's cultural life (end-of-year art exhibitions, collaborative projects) and attend relevant pedagogical meetings and parent-teacher conferences based on your working hours.
What we're looking for
- ✅ Language Skills (Crucial Requirement): You are a Native English speaker or possess an equivalent native-level bilingual fluency. You must be fully capable of conducting classes, guiding students, and writing academic reports entirely in English.
- ✅ Education & Experience: Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Fine Arts / Visual Arts, or a recognized teaching qualification. Previous experience teaching middle school students in an international or bilingual school setting is highly preferred.
- ✅ Personal Qualities: Excellent communication skills, enthusiasm, autonomy, and the ability to inspire and manage adolescent groups in a multicultural environment.
