About the Role
We are opening our first physical flagship store in Europe – a 2,500 m² home improvement & tools retail store in Marseille, France. We are looking for an experienced Store Manager to lead the pre‑opening preparation and manage the store post‑launch.
You will work closely with the local store owner and headquarters in China, taking ownership of everything from team recruitment, layout setup, and merchandising to P&L, operations, and customer experience.
What You’ll Do
Pre‑opening (until May 2027)
- Collaborate with the local project owner and HQ to plan and execute the store opening.
- Recruit, train, and build the store team.
- Oversee store layout, product receiving, fixture installation, and visual merchandising.
- Set up operational processes, inventory management, and customer service standards.
Post‑opening (ongoing)
- Manage day‑to‑day store operations, sales, and profitability.
- Analyse sales and financial reports to identify opportunities and drive improvement.
- Monitor market trends and competition; execute action plans to grow market share.
- Develop team members and build a talent pipeline for future expansion.
- Ensure brand consistency, store safety, and shrinkage control.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in big‑box home improvement retail
- Proven ability to lead teams, recruit talent, and drive operational excellence.
- English fluency (working language with HQ).
- Chinese (Mandarin) is a strong plus.
- French is beneficial but not mandatory.
- Hands‑on, able to work in a fast‑paced, on‑site environment.
