Role Overview
This role supports the on-site execution, documentation follow-up, cross-team communication, and issue resolution throughout the full lifecycle of overseas data center and related infrastructure projects—from construction, deployment, and testing through to final delivery and go-live.
The position is suitable for junior engineers with backgrounds in electrical engineering, HVAC, automation, telecommunications, low-voltage systems, IT infrastructure, engineering delivery, site construction, testing and commissioning, or related technical fields.
Full data center experience is not required, but candidates are expected to demonstrate strong learning ability, a hands-on approach to execution, good communication and coordination skills, and strong awareness of safety and compliance requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the delivery execution of data center and infrastructure projects, assisting with progress tracking across planning, on-site implementation, testing, commissioning, and go-live stages.
- Assist project managers or technical leads in tracking project plans, milestones, task progress, action items, issue logs, and risks, ensuring timely updates and follow-ups.
- Maintain daily communication with clients, designers, contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and internal technical teams to support clarification of issues, information alignment, and closure of action items.
- Participate in site surveys, construction coordination, equipment delivery checks, installation and deployment, link verification, basic testing, and commissioning preparation.
- Support on-site execution of IDC modules, network, low-voltage systems, MEP, or related infrastructure projects, including documentation collection, site reporting, construction progress tracking, quality checks, and issue feedback.
- Assist in preparation for testing and acceptance phases, including confirmation of test plans, resource coordination, test environment readiness, scheduling follow-up, test record consolidation, and issue tracking.
- Support recording, initial analysis, and follow-up of on-site or remote technical issues during delivery and go-live phases, escalating to relevant engineers, vendors, or client teams as required.
- Follow up on issues related to power, cooling, low-voltage systems, networking, equipment installation, connectivity, site safety, and quality, ensuring timely feedback and closure.
- Support documentation management and archiving, including meeting minutes, progress reports, issue logs, test records, acceptance documents, vendor materials, site photos, delivery reports, and other project documentation.
- Support project managers in meeting coordination, minutes taking, task assignment tracking, action item updates, and cross-team communication.
- As required by the project, support client communication, technical documentation preparation, solution descriptions, and collection of materials for bidding/RFP/RFQ and other pre-delivery activities.
- Comply with client site safety requirements, quality standards, SOPs, and internal company procedures, and be willing to support on-site work, overtime, or emergency response when necessary.
Requirements
- Degree in electrical engineering, HVAC, automation, telecommunications, computer science, network engineering, low-voltage systems, mechanical/electrical engineering, or related fields.
- 1–3 years of relevant experience preferred, including data centers, telecom sites, network deployment, IT infrastructure, low-voltage systems, MEP engineering, industrial facilities, building systems, testing and commissioning, construction delivery, or on-site technical support.
- Full data center experience is not required, but candidates are expected to demonstrate strong learning ability, a hands-on approach to execution, good communication and coordination skills, and strong awareness of safety and compliance requirements.
- Basic understanding of project delivery workflows, with ability to support progress tracking, issue logging, documentation, meeting notes, and task follow-up.
- Capable of on-site execution work, adaptable to field environments, and familiar with safety regulations, PPE requirements, construction site rules, and client procedures.
- Ability to interpret basic technical drawings, equipment lists, construction documents, test records, or project documentation is a plus.
- Strong communication skills, responsibility, execution capability, and teamwork mindset, able to work effectively in multi-stakeholder project environments.
- Clear logical thinking, able to record issues, organize information, track progress, and escalate technical or process issues in a timely manner.
- Able to adapt to overseas project rhythms, cross-border / cross-time-zone communication, and periods of high-intensity delivery work.
- Fluent Chinese preferred; English or French proficiency required, with at least one language usable as a working language.
