English Teacher for Children — KidooLand Vallauris (Permanent / CDI Intermittent)
One of our team is moving on, so we're looking for a passionate educator to join us from September on a permanent contract.
This is a CDI Intermittent — a permanent role built around our teaching calendar rather than a fixed weekly timetable. You work during defined active periods and have quieter periods in between, but the contract, the security, and all the rights are those of a permanent position. Your pay can be smoothed evenly across all 12 months so your income stays steady year-round.
The rhythm of the role
The hours vary across the year, which suits people who like a predictable but varied schedule:
- Term time: around 10 hours per week — Wednesdays and Saturday mornings.
- School holidays: intensive holiday "stages" (workshops), running close to full-time during those weeks.
- Total: approximately 692 teaching hours per year.
If you're looking for light, steady term-time work that ramps up into fuller weeks during the school holidays, this fits well.
Before you read on — this role is only for candidates who:
- Already live within a 20-minute journey of Vallauris (e.g. Antibes, Biot, Cannes) with their own transport. Local public transport isn't reliable enough for this.
- Already have the right to live and work in France, or a visa valid for at least the next 24 months. We are not able to sponsor for this position.
- Have native-level English (essential).
The Role
Using our plans and class books, you'll lead fun, interactive lessons for groups of children — taking them from no English to feeling confident with the basics.
- Creative freedom: We provide the books and clear objectives; you tailor the lessons to your own teaching style.
- Working with families: Writing evaluations and sending regular progress updates to parents is part of the role.
We're Looking For
- Passionate educators with genuine experience teaching and inspiring groups of children.
- Native-level English — essential.
- A local candidate within a 20-minute journey of Vallauris, with their own transport.
- The legal right to live and work in France already in place.
Pay
€1,264 – €1,475 gross per month (smoothed across 12 months).
The range reflects experience: the lower end is our starting point under the collective agreement (CCN Enseignement privé indépendant), and we move up the range for candidates who bring relevant teaching experience and qualifications. Because pay is annualised, you receive the same amount every month regardless of whether it's a quiet term-time month or an intensive holiday-stage month.
