Reporting to the Global Strategic Sourcing Manager, the Strategic Buyer will support the Procurement function across Allianz Partners during an 8-month fixed-term assignment. The role focuses on the procurement of Marketing and General Administration categories, ensuring cost efficiency, supplier performance, compliance, and business continuity.
Working closely with stakeholders across Marketing, Communications, and Support Functions, the Strategic Buyer will lead sourcing initiatives, manage supplier relationships, support contract negotiations, and drive value creation through strategic procurement activities. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to key procurement projects in an international environment while ensuring alignment with global procurement standards and governance.
Responsibilities
- Lead sourcing initiatives across Marketing and General Administration categories, including media, agencies, communications, professional services, and other indirect spend areas.
- Manage supplier selection processes, RFPs, commercial negotiations, and contract discussions to achieve the best value, quality, and service outcomes.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to understand business needs and develop sourcing approaches that support operational and strategic objectives.
- Conduct market analysis and supplier benchmarking to identify cost-saving opportunities, market trends, and potential risks.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers, monitor performance, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support the implementation of global and local procurement strategies, ensuring consistency and alignment across the organization.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, procurement governance, and Third-Party Risk Management (TPRM) requirements.
- Draft, review, and manage supplier contracts, ensuring appropriate documentation and registration within SAP Ariba.
- Perform supplier due diligence and risk assessments in collaboration with Legal, Compliance, Finance, and other relevant teams.
- Support demand planning activities and contribute to supplier panel optimization and procurement efficiency.
- Monitor procurement KPIs, savings targets, and project progress, providing regular updates and reports to procurement leadership.
- Promote procurement best practices and contribute to process improvement initiatives across the assigned categories.
- Work effectively in an environment shaped by artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, data analytics and cloud-based tools, using insights responsibly with our standards of data governance, security and ethical use.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Supply Chain, Procurement, Insurance, or a related field; Master's degree is an advantage.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, or category management.
- Experience managing Marketing and/or indirect procurement categories is strongly preferred.
- Proven experience leading sourcing projects, supplier negotiations, and contract management activities.
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to work effectively across different business functions.
- Experience working in an international and multicultural environment.
- Strong analytical, commercial, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Familiarity with procurement tools and systems, preferably SAP Ariba.
- Solid project management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fixed-term assignment.
- Strong sense of ownership, autonomy, and results orientation.
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
