Description

The Logistics Coordinator plays a key role in ensuring the safe, reliable and efficient operation of logistics activities within the Additives area at the Berre site. Working on behalf of Infineum under the SUMF agreement, the role coordinates, supervises and controls the loading and unloading of finished products and raw materials. The Logistics Coordinator oversees the activities of the logistics service provider and acts as the main operational contact for logistics and maintenance-related matters.

The scope covers several industrial units and logistics facilities, including U18S, U249, U38S, the Saphir loading and unloading facilities, the Mistral unloading stations, the U19S area, the U37 enclave and the PLP transition area.

Responsibilities and accountability

Requirements and expertise

Coordinate, supervise and control loading and unloading operations carried out by the logistics service provider.
Ensure compliance with all HSE procedures, operating instructions, site rules and applicable legal requirements.
Take responsibility for the logistics area during normal daytime operations.
Identify operational and safety risks, propose corrective actions and monitor their implementation.
Conduct regular safety and housekeeping inspections across the logistics areas.
Validate the training of service provider personnel in safety, customs regulations, operating procedures and logistics management systems.
Ensure that safety barriers identified through hazard studies are understood, implemented and maintained.
Supervise the loading of finished products into road tankers and rail tank cars, as well as the receipt and unloading of raw materials.
Ensure that products are delivered in accordance with quality requirements, customer expectations, regulations and agreed deadlines.
Maintain effective communication between site teams, Infineum, BPO and the logistics service provider.
Optimise logistics flows during maintenance and project activities to ensure continuity of shipments and raw material supply.
Prevent stock shortages that could affect the safe and reliable operation of production units.
Coordinate or perform operational field activities, including T2 pipeline transitions, connections and disconnections at the Mistral unloading stations, tanker and railcar recovery operations, blowing activities and filter opening.
Prepare and perform tank gauging activities as part of the annual physical inventory audit.
Ensure the appropriate configuration of the Optiflux loading management system.
Optimise the use of loading and unloading facilities according to operational requirements.
Maintain quality documentation, operating instructions and logistics area procedures.
Participate in troubleshooting activities, operational investigations and continuous improvement initiatives.
Act as the main contact for the logistics service provider regarding maintenance issues.
Ensure that preventive maintenance plans and periodic inspections are properly implemented.
Initiate work notifications and maintenance requests for the equipment and units within the assigned scope.
Coordinate periodic inspections of tanks, valves, hoses, nitrogen networks and regulated equipment.
Prepare equipment for maintenance activities, including equipment handover, gas testing, isolation and de-isolation.
Participate in maintenance planning and work preparation meetings.
Provide operational expertise to maintenance, inspection and project teams.
Monitor the availability of materials and equipment required for reliable unit operation.
Ensure that all logistics activities are completed in accordance with HSEQ requirements, quality standards and agreed timelines.
Propose practical improvements to HSE practices, logistics facilities and operating processes.

Personal skills

Education

Bachelor’s degree or two- to three-year higher education qualification in logistics, transport or a comparable field.
Qualifications such as a BTS in Transport and Logistics Services, a BTS in Transport and Associated Logistics Management, or a university degree in Logistics and Transport are preferred.
An equivalent level of professional experience may also be considered.

Work experience

Three to five years of professional experience in industrial logistics; or
At least five years of operational experience within production units, loading facilities or unloading areas.
Experience coordinating loading and unloading activities in an industrial environment.
Knowledge of the Berre site, its products and industrial processes would be an advantage.
Good understanding of industrial equipment and operating activities, including pumps, filters, equipment isolation and shutdown procedures.
Experience supervising contractors or logistics service providers would be beneficial.
Ability to coordinate operational activities and support maintenance interventions.
Proficiency in SAP and standard Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel and Teams.
Knowledge of systems such as SRM, ISS, PBS, PI, Gédotec and Optiflux would be an advantage.
Good working knowledge of English.
