Start: as soon as possible, ideally before 15 September
Commitment: 3 months minimum, ideally one semester or the academic year
Format: work in pairs possible - we are looking for 2 pairs
Pay: hourly rate, agreed together based on your profile and availability

About Generare

Generare is a Paris-based biotech startup, founded in 2023, exploring the chemistry of soil microbes to find tomorrow's molecules: new antibiotics, cancer treatments, solutions for agriculture. We are around thirty people, in a lab in the heart of the 14th arrondissement.

Role Overview

Soil is the fuel of our discovery engine. Everything starts with soil samples containing microbial strains that may encode the next generation of drugs or bioactive products.

Everything starts with soil. Before a molecule can be studied, the microbial strain producing it has to be isolated. It is methodical, essential work: the more strains we isolate, the better our chances of finding something new.

Concretely, you will:

run simple microbiology manipulations, following a clear protocol, to isolate microorganisms from samples;
work cleanly and carefully: follow instructions, record what matters, keep good traceability;
work in a pair : the job is designed to be done by two people: more efficient, more enjoyable, easier to schedule.

You will be trained on site before you start, and you will never be on your own: the lab team is there to support you.

Who we are looking for

No need to be an expert, or to have an advanced scientific background. Above all, we are looking for people who are:

serious, reliable and careful - this is the number one criterion;
able to commit to regular slots, for at least 3 months;
comfortable with hands-on, methodical work;
motivated by the idea of working in a real lab.
