----------Role Overview----------
We are seeking a Senior Business Analyst with strong expertise in Collateral Management, Data Analysis, and Financial Markets to support a strategic data transformation initiative.
The successful candidate will act as the bridge between business stakeholders and IT teams, driving the design and implementation of a centralized collateral data model. This role requires a combination of functional knowledge, data modeling expertise, and the ability to translate business requirements into detailed functional and technical specifications.
----------Key Responsibilities----------
Data Model Design
- Design and define the target data model, including:
- Data entities and tables
- Attributes and data types
- Relationships between data domains
- Ensure comprehensive coverage of all collateral-related information required by the business.
- Produce and maintain data dictionaries and data lineage documentation.
Data Source Identification & Integration
- Identify and validate the primary ("Golden Source") systems for collateral data.
- Identify data sources providing HQLA (High Quality Liquid Assets) classifications and collateral eligibility information.
- Identify and document contractual constraints associated with received collateral.
- Review and assess existing data platforms and repositories to ensure data quality, consistency, and suitability.
Data Mapping & Transformation
- Define business and functional mapping rules between source systems and the target data model.
- Specify data transformation and enrichment requirements.
- Support the design and optimization of data ingestion and integration processes.
- Work closely with technology teams to ensure accurate implementation of requirements.
Business Analysis & Documentation
- Gather, analyze, and formally document business and functional requirements.
- Produce Business Requirement Documents (BRDs), Functional Specifications, Data Mapping Documents, and Gap Analyses.
- Conduct a detailed comparative analysis between the future collateral database and the existing CCR Collateral database.
- Identify synergies, gaps, dependencies, and opportunities for consolidation.
- Assess the impact of the new data model on existing business processes, applications, reporting frameworks, and operating models.
----------Required Skills & Experience----------
Functional Expertise
- Strong experience as a Business Analyst within Investment Banking or Capital Markets.
- Proven expertise in Collateral Management and collateral data domains.
- Good understanding of market products and post-trade processes.
- Knowledge of the following areas is highly desirable:
- High Quality Liquid Assets (HQLA)
- Counterparty Credit Risk (CCR)
- Liquidity Management
- Securities Financing Transactions (SFT)
- Repo and Derivatives collateralization
Data & Technical Skills
- Strong experience in data modeling and data architecture initiatives.
- Ability to define complex data mappings and transformation rules.
- Solid understanding of Data Warehousing, ETL processes, and Data Governance principles.
- Experience working with large-scale financial data environments.
- SQL knowledge is a plus.
Soft Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Ability to interact effectively with both business and technology teams.
- Strong documentation and presentation skills.
- Autonomous, structured, and detail-oriented.
----------Qualifications----------
- 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst within Financial Services.
- Demonstrated experience delivering data-centric transformation projects.
- Experience working on collateral, risk, regulatory, or reference data initiatives is highly preferred.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
