Job Description:
We are looking for an Operational Market Research Analyst – Manganese Alloys M/F to strengthen our team responsible for market intelligence within the Commercial Directorate for Manganese Alloys.
Reporting hierarchically to the Manganese Alloys Sales Director and functionally to the Market Research Manager, you play a key role in understanding and anticipating the dynamics of the global manganese alloys market. Your analysis directly informs the Group's commercial and strategic decisions in the short, medium, and long term.
Responsibilities:
Market Analysis & Forecasting
Monitor and analyze global market trends for manganese alloys in the short, medium, and long term (supply, demand, inventory, competition)
Contribute to the development of market forecasts in close collaboration with the Commercial Directorate and the Market Research Manager
Produce relevant operational analyses to support commercial and strategic decision-making
Market Database Management
Build, maintain, and enrich a structured database covering supply, demand, and inventory in the manganese alloys market
Integrate and monitor developments in the low-carbon alloy segment ("lower CO2" to "low CO2" Mn Alloys)
Competitive Intelligence & Documentation
Conduct active monitoring using multiple sources (specialized publications, financial reports, competitor websites, social networks, etc.)
Identify and analyze decarbonization initiatives by industry players
Steel Market Monitoring & Energy Transition Challenges
Track manganese content developments by steel family and application sector (construction, automotive, Oil & Gas, etc.)
Support the development of "green steel" globally: volumes, steel families, "low CO2" premiums by geographic area
Production of Materials & Internal Communication
Draft clear summary notes and presentations for commercial teams, management, and external partners
Conduct ad hoc market studies to deepen the Group's marketing knowledge
Network Development & Sector Representation
Develop and maintain an active network of experts, analysts, and international clients
Participate in conferences and industrial events to capture weak market signals
Your Profile:
Education: Master's degree (Bac+5 level) from a business school, engineering school, or university, with a specialization in economics, finance, statistics, geosciences, or equivalent
Experience: 2 to 3 years of experience in market analysis, ideally in an industrial sector or raw materials (metals, energy, chemistry, etc.)
Languages: Fluent English is essential (international environment and stakeholders)
Tools: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel in particular); an interest in data visualization or data processing tools is an asset
Analytical & interpersonal skills: Rigor, synthesis skills, affinity for numbers, ability to distinguish weak signals from background noise in complex and uncertain information environments
Interpersonal skills: Good communicator, comfortable with diverse stakeholders (sales teams, management, external experts), capable of working cross-functionally in a multicultural context
