POSITION OVERVIEW
The post holder is responsible for developing and managing communications with prospective students and their families throughout the student recruitment lifecycle, with particular responsibility for maximising the use of AUP’s CRM, Slate, as a recruitment and communications platform.
The role will develop, manage and continually improve targeted and personalised recruitment communications from initial enquiry through application, admission, confirmation and enrolment, with the aim of strengthening engagement and improving conversion.
The post holder will also develop and deliver digital recruitment campaigns to generate appropriately qualified enquiries and applicants, working with external agencies or specialist providers where appropriate, and coordinate recruitment content with colleagues across the University.
This is a recruitment-focused communications role, using CRM, digital marketing, data and technology to support AUP's student recruitment and enrolment objectives.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The main duties and responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:
Manage the prospective student communications lifecycle
· Develop and manage communications throughout the prospective student journey, from initial enquiry through application, admission, confirmation and enrolment at AUP.
· Working with Admissions colleagues, regularly review and improve communications at each stage of the recruitment lifecycle, ensuring they are timely, relevant and appropriately segmented by audience, academic interest, geographical market, recruitment stage and engagement.
· Develop communications designed to nurture enquiries, encourage application completion, support admitted students in their decision-making, improve confirmation rates and reduce summer melt.
Maximise the use of Slate as a recruitment communications platform
· Take primary responsibility within Admissions for the effective use of Slate for prospective student communications, including developing and maintaining automated communications, campaigns, populations, segmentation and triggers.
· Work closely with the Slate Administrator and Admissions colleagues to ensure communications are accurate, appropriately targeted and operating effectively throughout the recruitment cycle, while identifying opportunities to make better use of existing and emerging Slate functionality.
Develop recruitment communications and content
· Create, edit, tailor and coordinate communications for undergraduate, graduate, transfer, visiting, summer and other prospective student audiences, as well as parents and other important influencers in student decision-making.
· Work with colleagues across Admissions, Communications and the wider University to develop appropriate and engaging content, incorporating the experiences and voices of current students, alumni and the wider AUP community wherever possible.
· Ensure recruitment communications are consistent with AUP's institutional messaging and visual identity while remaining appropriate to the audience and stage of the recruitment lifecycle.
Analyse and improve communications performance
· Monitor engagement, application progression, conversion and confirmation and use this information to continually improve recruitment communications.
· Test and evaluate content, subject lines, timing, segmentation and communication journeys, making recommendations based on their contribution to recruitment and enrolment outcomes.
Develop and execute digital student recruitment campaigns
· Develop and deliver targeted digital recruitment campaigns designed to generate appropriately qualified prospective students, responding to priorities across markets, academic programs and student populations.
· Develop and execute appropriate digital campaigns directly and work with AUP Communications, external agencies or specialist providers where additional technical expertise, media buying or campaign scale is required.
· Support Admissions colleagues in developing targeted digital campaigns for their geographic markets and student populations.
Connect digital campaigns with the recruitment lifecycle
· Ensure digital recruitment activity is effectively connected to Slate, working alongside the Slate Administrator on campaign tracking, landing pages, forms, UTMs and other mechanisms required to understand the source and subsequent progression of prospective students.
· Analyze the relationship between marketing activity and enquiry, application, admission, confirmation and enrolment to help Admissions evaluate campaign effectiveness and target recruitment resources more effectively.
· Keep abreast of developments in higher education recruitment, prospective student behaviour and the evolving use of technology and digital platforms. Identify emerging trends and opportunities and adapt digital campaigns, Slate communications and recruitment journeys accordingly.
Work collaboratively across the University
· Develop effective working relationships across Admissions and the wider AUP community, particularly with Communications to ensure recruitment activity aligns with institutional messaging, brand standards and wider University communications.
· Work with academic departments, students, alumni and other colleagues to identify and develop content and information that supports prospective students throughout their decision-making process.
