Ion Beam Services is a rapidly growing international high-tech company with operations near Aix-en-Provence (Peynier), as well as in the USA, Scotland, and Singapore.
Founded in 1987, we have developed specialized expertise in designing equipment and electronic components that harness nanotechnology for the semiconductor industry.
Our expertise in ion implantation covers every stage from R&D to production. Through our equipment manufacturing, maintenance, and process development services, we offer innovative solutions that span the entire value chain.
Your responsibilities:
You will define and execute the company’s engineering strategy in alignment with business, industrial, and financial roadmaps. This role encompasses all engineering operations in France and Scotland.
- Defining the engineering roadmap for all product lines.
- Optimizing Bill of Materials (BOM) costs while transitioning from engineering BOMs to industrial BOMs.
- Ensuring alignment with R&D and industrialization teams, and managing the handover to manufacturing and service teams.
- Structuring multidisciplinary engineering teams (software, simulation, France engineering, UK engineering, and lead architect).
- Contributing to the technological vision and competitive differentiation in collaboration with R&D, applications, and business unit teams.
- Acting as a key architect of the company’s growth.
• Participating in defining the 3–5 year technology roadmap. • Prioritize R&D investments based on target markets (power electronics, advanced materials, specific applications).
- Structure the engineering organization to support scaling up operations.
- Ensure the scalability of technology platforms.
- Unite teams of experts around a clear, ambitious vision.
- Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and excellence.
Your Profile:
Education and Experience:
- Master’s degree in Engineering (microelectronics, semiconductor physics, materials science, or a related field).
- Proven experience in engineering leadership within the semiconductor equipment or complex technology industry.
- Strategic vision combined with strong technical credibility.
- Performance-oriented mindset focused on value creation and international competitiveness.
- Experience structuring teams during periods of growth.
- Fluent English essential.

- Ability to manage multidisciplinary and multi-site teams.
- Strong influencing, communication, and decision-making skills.
An asset:
- PhD in Engineering (microelectronics, semiconductor physics, materials science, or a related field).
