Senior Fullstack Rust Developer: AI Cost Optimization, Governance & SecurityAbout RTK
RTK is an optimization layer that sits between CLI tools and AI agents to reduce tokens sent to LLM APIs. The goal is to reduce costs while improving agent efficiency.
RTK Pro is the governance, security, and observability layer built on top of RTK. It embeds RTK for token savings and provides both cloud and on-premise services to reconnect and empower development teams.
This additional layer also addresses several challenges inherent to the use of AI agents, including:
- Data security
- Team governance
- Usage observability
- Configurations and rules sharing
We are continuously improving the entire stack by exploring new approaches and integration points for context optimization, token consumption, security, and governance.
The Role
We are looking for a Rust developer who wants to actively contribute to the technical evolution of RTK and RTK Pro within RTK AI Labs.
Beyond development, we are looking for someone who can propose ideas, challenge assumptions, and participate in the decisions that shape the future of our products.
This is still an emerging field with many open problems and significant opportunities for innovation and improvement.
As a startup, our small team enables rapid iteration and a high degree of flexibility.
What You'll Work On
You may contribute to:
- Designing new context and token reduction strategies
- Performance and memory consumption optimization
- Integrating with AI agents and orchestration tools
- Improving project architecture and contributor experience
- Collaborating with the Open Source community
- Building user interfaces for observability and team management
Desired Profile
Ideally, you have experience or a strong interest in:
- Rust development (or another low-level language such as C or Zig)
- Fullstack environments (comfortable with CI/CD, APIs, cloud technologies, frontend concepts, and best practices)
- AI-assisted development, the use of generative models for software development, and exploring new AI tools
- Performance, optimization, or compression challenges
- Open Source software
- Linux/macOS shell environments
