Goodman CE is scaling a leading platform of mission-critical data centre infrastructure across Europe. As part of our Power Practice — our centre of expertise for energy and power strategy — we are strengthening our in-house capabilities to manage energy as a strategic driver of performance, cost, and customer value across the platform.
We are seeking an Energy Procurement & Commercialisation Manager to lead energy procurement, commercialization, and operational oversight and balancing across our data centre portfolio.
This is a new role, offering a unique opportunity to build and shape the energy function from the ground up within a fast-growing platform. Operating in an entrepreneurial and evolving environment, you will play a key role in defining processes, strategies, and partnerships, with a high degree of ownership and autonomy.
The role sits at the intersection of energy markets and operations, ensuring reliable, cost-effective, and scalable energy supply, while enabling commercial energy solutions for our customers. You will will work in close collaboration with the Data Centre Operations team and development teams, who retain responsibility for grid connection and site selection.
More concretely, you will have the opportunity to:
- Energy procurement & strategy
- Define and execute energy procurement strategies across multiple European markets
- Lead negotiations and execution of Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) and other supply contracts
- Monitor energy markets (power, gas, certificates) and electricity load profile to optimize cost, risk exposure and sourcing strategies
- Develop and manage supplier and counterparty relationships
- Optimize Goodman's long-term position on power and gas markets, balancing cost, risk, and flexibility
- Commercial energy solutions
- Structure and manage the resale of on-site energy, PPAs and energy from other markets to data centre customers
- Support commercial and development teams in integrating energy solutions into customer offerings to decarbonize energy supply and/or reshape the energy demand profile
- Contribute to pricing strategies linked to energy supply and consumption
- Power operations and infrastructure oversight
- Oversee electricity demand profile and reliability across operational data centres
- Interface with utilities and operators of on-site power generation assets on operational matters
- Monitor regulatory developments and adapt procurement and commercialization strategies accordingly
- Identify and commercialize structures to leverage onsite generation assets on balancing markets
- Supervise performance of on-site power assets
- Operational support to development teams
- Provide input on expected energy demand and load profiles based on data centre design and customer requirements
- Support development teams with market insights on energy pricing and sourcing options
- Ensure alignment between operational energy strategy and future capacity planning
- Energy performance and reporting
- Track energy consumption, costs, and efficiency across the portfolio
- Support internal reporting and budgeting related to energy spend
Do you recognize yourself?
- 5+ years of experience in energy markets, utilities, IPPs, power trading, or energy intensive industries
- Strong expertise in energy procurement and trading - power plant operations experience is a plus
- Proven experience negotiating PPAs and/or other energy contracts. Proven versus know it.
- Familiarity with European energy markets and regulatory frameworks. France Germany representative markets.
- Ability to bridge technical, commercial, and operational topics
- Strong commercial and negotiation skills
- Analytical mindset with understanding of energy pricing and risk
- Stakeholder management
- Ability to operate in a fast-scaling, infrastructure-driven environment
- Full fluency in English (written and spoken), enabling the candidate to work in an international environment. French, Dutch, German or Spanish is a plus.
- Entrepreneurial personality combining analytical skills with curiosity, adaptability and a taste for innovation
