Background
As part of its strategy to strengthen participation in European funding programmes, Université de Reims Champagne-Ardenne is seeking to recruit a Grant Writer to support academic and administrative teams in the preparation, writing, and management of European research and innovation project proposals.
Main Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the EXEBIO Director and in coordination with the European project engineering service of the university, the Grant Writer will be responsible for:
Supporting researchers and project leaders in identifying relevant European funding calls (Horizon Europe, Erasmus+, Interreg, etc.)- Assisting in project development, including scientific structuring, definition of objectives, impacts, deliverables, and indicators
- Writing, reviewing, and harmonising scientific, technical, and cross-cutting sections of proposals (excellence, impact, implementation)
- Coordinating the collection of contributions from internal and external partners
- Ensuring compliance of proposals with the requirements of funding calls and European funding bodies
- Contributing to the continuous improvement of internal practices for responding to calls for proposals (tools, templates, evaluation feedback)
- Monitoring developments in European funding programmes and related policies
Profile
Education and Experience
Master’s degree or higher (science, humanities, engineering, European affairs, or equivalent)- Proven experience in the preparation and/or writing of European project proposals, preferably in an academic or research environment
- Good knowledge of European funding programmes
Skills and Competencies
Excellent writing skills in English (C1/C2 level required); proficiency in French is an asset- Ability to synthesise complex scientific content
- Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to work effectively in collaborative and multicultural environments
- High level of autonomy and proactive attitude
Employment Conditions
Contract type: Full-time Category A position- Contract duration: 3 years fixed-term contract renewable
- Salary: commensurate with qualifications and experience, in accordance with applicable salary scales
- Option for remote work (1-2 days per week) subject to length of service in the role
