Job Description:
Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Lean Manufacturing Manager is responsible for defining, deploying, and embedding a Lean culture across CAMECA’s operations. He/She plays a key role in the company’s industrial transformation by driving continuous improvement initiatives, developing the Cameca Production System, and ensuring alignment with AMETEK’s operational excellence standards.
The mission is to sustainably improve operational performance (productivity, quality, lead times, and costs) through structured, data-driven, and shopfloor-focused approaches.
Main Responsibilities
Lean Deployment & Transformation
- Define and deploy the Lean roadmap in alignment with the industrial strategy
- Lead the development of the Cameca Production System, in coordination with AMETEK Operational Excellence
- Drive structured improvement initiatives (Kaizen, VSM, SMED, standard work, etc.)
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement at all levels of the organization
Productivity & Performance
- Launch and manage the portfolio of productivity improvement projects (labor, flow, capacity)
- Optimize manufacturing costs and enhance overall performance
- Implement and monitor performance indicators (Lean KPIs, OEE, lead time, etc.)
- Benchmark internal and external performance (comparison with group peers)
Flow & Industrial Organization
- Analyze and optimize physical and information flows (VSM, pull systems, etc.)
- Improve industrial layouts and shopfloor organization
- Optimize the production system (waste reduction, line balancing, takt/cycle time)
- Contribute to industrialization through Lean principles (DFM, simplification)
Visual Management & Performance Management
- Deploy visual management tools and shopfloor management routines
- Structure operational performance management systems (SQCDP, dashboards, etc.)
- Implement performance routines (daily management, QRQC, etc.)
- Promote a data-driven and problem-solving culture
Standards & Operational Excellence
- Define and deploy work standards (standard work)
- Ensure compliance with and continuous improvement of 5S practices
- Design and implement robust management processes
- Train and coach teams on Lean tools
Change Management
- Facilitate and engage shopfloor teams and support functions
- Drive employee engagement around Lean initiatives
Requirements
Education & Experience
- Engineering degree or Master’s in industrial engineering / production / operations
- Minimum 5 years of experience in an industrial environment
- Strong hands-on experience in continuous improvement
Professional knowledge required & abilities
- Proficiency in Lean Manufacturing and Toyota Production System
- Knowledge of Lean tools (VSM, Kaizen, 5S, SMED, Kanban…)
- Good understanding of industrial production systems
- Strong analytical skills and ability to leverage data
- Analytical, logical, and structured mindset
- Strong shopfloor orientation (gemba)
- Ability to lead, engage, and challenge teams
- Excellent communication skills
- Influence-based leadership
- Strong interest in transformation and continuous improvement
- Professional level of English required : B2
- Travel area : National & International 15%
