The Lead Buyer Global Storage & EMEA Road Transportation is responsible for acquiring the goods and services necessary for the company’s operations for the following scope :

Storage activities, bulk & packed, all zones excluding China
-
Europe : shore facilities for exports
-
Other zones (excluding China) : shore facilities for imports and supply routes to final customer

Road transportation MEA (2M€, FY spends) : mainly packed mode
-
She/He uses the tools and methods defined by the Corporate Purchasing Department and is responsible for the P2P (Purchase to Pay) process for the segment.

She/He insure the reporting to corporate (savings, etc…)
-
She/He negotiates with selected suppliers to obtain the best quality at the best price, while respecting budget constraints, deadlines, and governance rules.
Responsibilities
-
Gather and analyze functional requirements and specifications from internal stakeholders
-
Establish ad hoc Purchasing strategies
-
Identify potential suppliers (RFI – Request For Information)
-
Launch tenders and requests for quotations (RFQ – Request For Quotations)
-
Establish a comparison grid to compare the offers, integrating and weighting all key selection criteria
-
Analyze the offers (TCO – Total Cost of Ownership) and conduct negotiations up to supplier selection
-
Draft contractual terms with the support of the legal department, establish purchase contracts including key company KPIs (Key Performance Indicators)

Manage supplier relationships, ensure proper contract execution, and handle potential disputes
-
Evaluate supplier performance, conduct audits, monitor claims, and implement corrective actions if necessary

Ensure competitive intelligence, monitor market trends and developments, anticipate supply risks, and maintain a panel of suppliers capable of ensuring competitive and innovative supply

Comply with standards and regulations, particularly regarding safety, quality, sustainability, and ethics (Corporate Social Responsibility)

Ensure compliance with internal purchasing procedures and the company’s quality policy

Provide reports and analyses to monitor the performance of the Purchasing function and compliance with budget commitments

Participate in compliance audits
Qualifications

Excellent negotiation and communication skills

Ability to analyze and synthesize needs and offers

Good knowledge of purchasing techniques and the related segments
-
Good knowledge of IT tools (ERP, Xls, Word)
-
Curiosity and rigor, organizational skills, and priority management

Strong ethics and respect for confidentiality

Team spirit and ability to interface within matrix organizations

English proficiency
-
Prior minimum 5 years’ experience in a Purchasing in a similar role is mandatory
-
Prior experience minimum 5 years’ experience in a Storage and/or transportation company is a plus
-
Ability to work in a team and interact with various stakeholders. Will be part of a global purchasing network with a lot of remote interactions. Will have to seek support from other Purchasing Leaders
