Job Mission – Electronics Project Engineer
You lead multi‑disciplinary R&D projects with a strong focus on
electronic design and
embedded systems for industrial and robotic applications. You translate customer needs into specifications and architectures, manage mechatronic integration, and ensure products are developed, validated and industrialized to meet performance, quality and reliability targets.
Key Responsibilities
Project & product management
-
Lead electronic/mechatronic development projects from concept to industrialization.
-
Align product roadmaps with customer needs and internal stakeholders.
-
Coordinate multi‑disciplinary teams and external partners.
Specifications & system architecture
-
Translate customer/application needs into hardware and software specifications.
-
Define system architectures for embedded control, communication and signal processing (including PLC interfaces and PID‑type control).
Electronic and embedded design
-
Design electronic boards (schematics, PCB layout/routing, manufacturing files).
-
Apply EMC best practices and support lab testing and troubleshooting.
-
Coordinate external partners for PCBA, software, plugins and firmware.
-
Develop and/or review embedded C software for STM32 microcontrollers, including RTOS‑based architectures and industrial Ethernet protocols (e.g. EtherCAT, PROFINET, Ethernet/IP).
Mechatronic integration & robotics
-
Integrate electronics into robotic and automation systems (incl. grippers/end‑of‑arm tooling).
-
Collaborate with mechanical and automation engineers for robust, safe integration.
Prototyping, testing & validation
-
Build and debug mock‑ups, prototypes and pre‑series units.
-
Define and execute test plans at board, software and product level.
-
Design and implement test benches, including PLC/automation programming when needed.
Industrialization, documentation & maintenance
-
Maintain electronic production files and documentation for EMS‑manufactured products.
-
Prepare and update schematics, BOMs, test procedures and user/service documentation.
-
Support continuous improvement and lifecycle management of electronic platforms.
Technical support & expertise
-
Provide electronics expertise in the lab, on returned products and occasionally on customer sites.
-
Support customers, internal teams and subsidiaries, in particular the US organization.
-
Act as a technical reference for electronics in design reviews and problem solving.
Preferred Competencies
Technical skills
-
Strong electronic design (schematics, PCB layout, manufacturing files, SPICE, test benches, EMC).
-
Embedded systems & software: C for STM32, RTOS, industrial Ethernet (EtherCAT, PROFINET, Ethernet/IP).
-
Control & signal processing: PLCs, LADDER programming, control‑command algorithms (e.g. PID).
-
Mechatronics & robotics: robotic cells, mechatronic integration, ideally grippers/end‑of‑arm tooling.
-
Measurement & testing: test bench design, validation, debugging of electronic/embedded systems.
Core & soft skills
-
Experience leading multi‑disciplinary R&D projects in an industrial environment.
-
Ability to turn customer needs into clear specs, architectures and plans.
-
Strong stakeholder management with suppliers, partners and internal teams.
-
Customer‑oriented, collaborative, structured and solution‑driven.
