Gagosian is hiring a full-time Gallery Assistant (Front Desk) to join its Paris team.
Gagosian seeks an energetic Gallery Assistant (Front Desk), with knowledge and passion for the arts, to work with the public in an administrative capacity. The ideal candidate will be friendly yet professional, maintain composure under pressure, has excellent judgment and ability to prioritize, a great memory for faces, and must have an outstanding phone manner.
Gallery Assistant (Front Desk) duties include but not limited to:
- Assisting with the day-to-day running of the gallery and supporting colleagues across all departments.
- Maintenance of the physical gallery space: ensuring the gallery is always in order, purchasing materials, stationary and supplies where needed.
- Answering the main phone lines and transferring internal gallery calls, this requires an awareness of everyone’s whereabouts, especially when staff members are travelling.
- Assisting staff in preparing and organising sales materials, research and expenses.
- Arranging courier bookings and mail-outs.
- Booking cars, hotels and restaurant reservations for staff and artists.
- Maintaining relationships with account managers where applicable.
- Invoice checking of corporate accounts where applicable.
- Arranging conference calls and zoom meetings where required.
- Assisting with openings and events at the gallery.
- Recognising clients, artists and important guests upon arrival.
- Greeting all visitors in a warm and professional manner.
- Overseeing and managing the intern programme, including organising the schedule, aiding in recruitment, supervising and supporting gallery interns.
- Management and upkeep of the gallery database.
- Maintain a clean and tidy reception area.
- Assist staff with ad hoc projects as requested.
- Ability to work after hours for certain client viewings, openings and events.
- Update auction calendar and track relevant auctions.
- Supervise the inventory, stock levels, ordering and storage of the gallery's books and publications.

Relevant experience in the Arts, working at an art gallery, auction house, museum or arts organisation, including internship experience.
- BA and/or Master’s degree in Art History or Humanities field.
- Must speak/write French and English fluently
