As a Business Developer intern, you will work directly with the founding team (CEO and Managing Director) and the Commercial Department.
The role is cross-functional: economic analysis and market modeling, BtoB prospecting with industrial players, BtoC outreach to future users, and the production of commercial and marketing content. A complete playing field for anyone who wants to understand how a breakthrough technology becomes a business.
Your main missionsEconomic analysis & market intelligence
- Build and maintain the product's economic model: total cost of ownership (TCO), fuel savings, return on investment for the end customer.
- Size the addressable markets (TAM / SAM / SOM) across the light, regional and training aviation segments, and challenge the assumptions with management.
- Run structured competitive intelligence: engine manufacturers, new entrants, electric and hydrogen programs, and derive a clear positioning.
- Produce analysis notes and decision-making dashboards for the founding team and investors.
BtoB outreach
- Identify, qualify and prioritize industrial targets: aircraft manufacturers, engine makers, equipment suppliers, operators, flight schools.
- Build and run a prospecting pipeline (CRM): first contact, follow-ups, meeting scheduling, opportunity tracking.
- Prepare meeting materials: pitches, value propositions tailored to each contact, initial commercial offers.
- Take part in client and partner meetings alongside the founders, and handle the reporting and follow-up.
BtoC & user community
- Understand and segment the end-user target (private pilots, owners, flying clubs): expectations, purchase barriers, price sensitivity.
- Test messages and direct acquisition channels, and measure their performance (surveys, landing pages, targeted campaigns).
- Bring the voice of the customer back to the technical teams to feed product definition.
Marketing & communication
- Co-build commercial and marketing materials: sales pitch, brochures, content for trade shows (Le Bourget, Aero Friedrichshafen, etc.).
- Contribute to Viraj Aero's presence and messaging at professional events and across digital channels.
- Ensure consistency between the commercial discourse and the brand image.
Required profile
- Final-year student at a business school, engineering school or specialized Master's (business development, strategy, finance, marketing, or equivalent).
- Strong interest in aviation, high-tech industry and the start-up world.
- A first experience (internship, apprenticeship, project) in business development, consulting, sales or market analysis is a plus.
Required skills and qualities
- Strong comfort with numbers: economic modeling, data analysis, advanced Excel.
- Commercial drive and people skills: you are comfortable reaching out directly to clients.
- Excellent synthesis, writing and presentation skills (slides, decision notes).
- Autonomy, initiative and the ability to thrive in a fast-moving, demanding environment.
- Fluent written and spoken communication, in French and English.
Why join us
- Join a fast-growing start-up and contribute to high-impact technological projects.
- Take part in building the team and the identity of Viraj Aero.
- End-of-studies internship that may lead to a permanent position.

Please send your CV and cover letter to [email protected], specifying the position in the subject line. If your application is shortlisted, you will first be invited to an interview with our Managing Director, before the technical interviews.
