As part of the continued development of our business, we are looking for an English Language Trainer to join our family and contribute to the growth of our centre.
The Role
As an English Language Trainer, you will work at our training centre in Lyon.
Reporting to the Director of Studies, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of our teaching and will therefore be one of the key representatives of our company.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Teaching English to adult learners, delivering face-to-face lessons either individually or in small groups of learners at a similar level
- Sharing your knowledge and experience with learners and the wider team
- Building strong relationships with learners and actively supporting their motivation and progress throughout their learning journey
- Monitoring learners’ progress through regular follow-ups and reporting
- Assessing learners’ skills and achievements and providing clear recommendations for improvement
- Observing and supporting fellow teachers, sharing best practices and providing guidance
- Communicating learners’ needs to the wider team
- Taking an active part in the life of the centre, including creating and hosting events
- Contributing to your own professional development and actively engaging with new teaching approaches, ideas and best practices
About You
You are a native English speaker or bilingual English speaker and a passionate teacher who genuinely enjoys helping people learn and progress.
You hold a recognised English teaching qualification such as TESOL, CELTA or TEFL, and ideally have previous successful experience in English language teaching.
More than simply delivering lessons, you want to invest in your students and in the centre. You enjoy building long-term relationships with learners, getting involved in the life of the school and being part of a team.
You stand out through your excellent communication and listening skills and your ability to build strong, trusting relationships with learners. You are proactive, positive and energetic, and you are keen to share ideas and contribute to making the centre an even better place to learn and work.
We’re Looking For Someone Who:
- Is genuinely committed to their students and to the MyES community
- Is team-oriented and enjoys participating in the life of the centre
- Is happy to participate in and help organise events
- Is motivated by continuous professional development and eager to improve their teaching practice
- Has good availability in the evenings and on Saturday mornings, when our learners are often most available
- Has a driving licence and access to their own car, allowing them to deliver in-company training outside Lyon when required
In-Company Training
Some of our corporate clients are located outside Lyon, so the ability and willingness to travel by car is an important part of the role.
In-company classes outside Lyon are compensated at a different rate, which will be discussed and agreed on a case-by-case basis depending on the location and assignment.

Please note that applicants must have a valid right to work in France. We can only consider candidates who are EU citizens or who hold valid residency/work authorisation in France.
Compensation & Contract
- €20.80 per hour for classes at the MyES centre
- Freelance contract
- Different compensation for in-company classes outside Lyon, discussed on a case-by-case basis
