TLDR: We’re looking for a DevOps Engineer to build and maintain the cloud and on-prem infrastructure behind our platform: Kubernetes clusters, CI/CD pipelines, observability, networking, and automation that keep production reliable, secure, and scalable.
White Circle is an AI Safety company building the safety, reliability, and optimization layer for AI systems. At the core of our platform are policies – simple natural-language rules that define what an AI model should and shouldn’t do. We automatically test, enforce, and continuously improve these policies at scale.
We’ve raised $11M from top funds, founders, and senior leaders at OpenAI, Anthropic, HuggingFace, Mistral, DeepMind, Datadog, Sentry, and others
We process over one hundred million API calls every month
We fine-tune and train our own LLMs so they run faster and cheaper than any open or proprietary model
We’re a small, highly focused team. If you want to work deeply on hard problems, see your work ship to production quickly, and influence how AI safety is actually built – you’re the one we need.
Design, build, and maintain production infrastructure across AWS and on-prem environments
Manage and improve Kubernetes clusters for deployments, scaling, reliability, and day-to-day operations
Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines that make shipping safer, faster, and more predictable
Work on modern infrastructure, including Docker images, runtime security, and lifecycle management overall
Achieve high availability, performance, and observability with monitoring, alerting, and troubleshooting practices
Follow IaC approach using Terraform and similar tolls, help keep environments consistent and easy to scale
Handle networking and connectivity topics across the stack, including routing, firewalls, load balancing, and cluster-to-cluster communication. Achieve least possible latency.
Write Python scripts and internal tooling to automate repetitive tasks and improve operational workflows
Collaborate closely with engineering and ML teams to support product infrastructure, internal platforms, and compute-heavy workloads when needed
You have hands-on experience with AWS services such as IAM, S3, EKS, and ECR
You’re comfortable working not only in cloud environments, but also with real production on-prem infrastructure
You have strong Unix/Linux fundamentals and can confidently troubleshoot, tune, and operate systems in production
You’ve worked with containers in real environments and understand how to build secure, efficient setups
You have practical experience and fundamental knowledge with Kubernetes, whether in EKS, k0s, or similar distributions
You’ve built or maintained real CI/CD pipelines and understand how to make deployments reliable
You understand networking well, including TCP/IP, routing, firewalls, and load balancing
You have solid Terraform and Infrastructure-as-Code experience
You’ve worked with Datadog for monitoring and observability
You use Python comfortably for automation and internal tools
You communicate clearly and work well with others. Fluent English.
A big plus:
Experience with machine learning or GPU workloads.
Experience with multi-cluster or multi-cloud environments.
Exposure to security-focused infrastructure, air-gapped environments, or locked-down systems.
Salary of $80,000 to $150,000 + equity
Paid time off in line with your local regulations, no matter where you work from
Work from Paris (hybrid) + relocation package
Best medical insurance in France
All the hardware, tools, and services you need
