Join our team as a Supplier Quality Engineer and play a key role in ensuring the quality, compliance, and reliability of purchased products and services while contributing to operational excellence and customer satisfaction. Working closely with suppliers and cross-functional teams, you will drive supplier quality assurance activities and support the continuous improvement of our supply chain processes.
Role Responsibilities
- Support supplier selection and approval activities in collaboration with Supply Chain and Purchasing teams.
- Plan, conduct, and follow up on supplier audits to assess compliance, process maturity, and quality performance.
- Qualify new suppliers and new product/supplier combinations to ensure quality and regulatory requirements are met.
- Work closely with suppliers to ensure purchased products and services conform to specifications and customer requirements.
- Investigate supplier-related non-conformities, lead root cause analyses, and monitor corrective action implementation using structured problem-solving methodologies (8D, PDCA, etc.).
- Collaborate with Quality Control, Production, Engineering, and Purchasing teams to reduce supplier-related quality issues and improve overall product quality.
- Monitor supplier quality performance through KPIs and support supplier development and improvement initiatives.
- Develop and manage supplier quality documentation including APQP and PPAP deliverables.
- Participate in risk assessments, process FMEAs, and continuous improvement projects related to purchased products and supply chain processes.
- Support internal quality audits and contribute to the ongoing improvement of quality management processes.
Travel
Up to 30% travel, primarily within France, for supplier audits, qualification activities, and performance reviews.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree (Bac+5) in Quality Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a Quality, Supplier Quality, Manufacturing Quality, or Industrial Engineering role.
- Knowledge of quality management systems and standards such as EN9100 and ISO 9001.
- Understanding of supplier quality processes, quality assurance methodologies, and continuous improvement principles.
- Familiarity with quality tools and methodologies such as APQP, PPAP, 8D, 5 Why, 5M, QRQC, and PDCA.
- Working knowledge of metrology and dimensional inspection techniques.
- Professional proficiency in English (written and spoken).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience within the aerospace, defense, automotive, or other highly regulated manufacturing industries.
- Knowledge of aviation regulations such as EASA Part 21G and Part 145.
- Experience performing supplier, process, product, or traceability audits.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and supplier quality management tools.
- Certification in quality methodologies or auditing (Lead Auditor, Six Sigma, etc.).
- Experience developing and managing APQP/PPAP documentation with suppliers.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
- Ability to influence and collaborate effectively with suppliers and cross-functional teams.
Demonstrated initiative, curiosity, rigor, and commitment to continuous improvement.
