This regards only Technip offices in France.
A typical day work can start any time between 7:30 and 10:00, however the end is not well established as engineers are expected to "work until the job is done": French work culture with little respect for the balance between private and professional life.
The company has huge international exposure in many fields and type of projects, but this does not mean you will have free access to any of these projects, you maybe seating at your desk writing process specifications for several years.
Management of people is often based on the tags someone may receive from colleagues and management itself, and it may happen that some mean manager make up stories about yourself and your work, this may definitively limit your career. There are however a few but very impressive managers willing to listen and to discuss with you, providing you options in your career.
The people you will work with are 90% nationals minded by elite schools. Some of these are common nice people with a standard family life, but many others are not easy to handle and not very open minded towards personal or professional discussions and constructions. If you are new in this company it will be rare that someone approaches you to offer you guidance and support in the first months of work. Managers seem to be chosen first by their technical expertise, all of them are experts in something, and perhaps because of it, many lack a lot of human approach towards the w

Safety, productive and fun to play basketball with new friends.
I was excited on my first day to meet new team/ colleagues. During my stay with Technip, All I can say is, it was cool and relaxed as the management are friendly and giving support on the needs of each employee. The R&R I got before with Technip was so good as 10 weeks/ 2 weeks only with travel allowance and high salary- the main thing I love most in Technip company.
I wish I get more chance to work with Technip again, They will provide best future for my family and there's chance to give a help to my brother and sisters.
Points positifsFree meals, service vehicles and good a accommodation, good benefits, R&R and travel allowance provided.

When, I arrive at work, it's important to take a quick coffee with my co-workers, the relationship with my co-workers is important and can be really helpful in my daily work. You can then help each other, and provide the service to the others.
Checking my emails and doing the daily work is essential but my job needs to include an important human part.
So, for me, a perfect day at work coincide with a really operationnal job, with a permanent contact with the employees.

Points positifsles avantages sociaux
Lots of potential, but overall a complete disorganized mess
Performing my job as a project engineer for TechnipFMC was mostly good, up until some recent changes were made. A complete re-org shook things up in the whole company: there were tons of layoffs, groups were mixed around, and employees were forced to take on responsibilities of the laid off employees.
In particular, there was a full-time role that existed that performed a very "administrative" and time-consuming task. However, the lack of logic in the re-org now has engineering assuming the full-time admin role for their projects, along with the already excessive engineering responsibilities in place. Engineers are essentially performing two full-time roles simultaneously, with absolutely zero additional compensation. I don't feel that the new responsibilities are logical and that they actually cause much more loss in value added to the company than just keeping that role separated as it was originally.
In addition to the re-org in the company, there hasn't been a raise given in over 3 years. This is very disconcerting, since I should be making approx $7K more than I am now, with a mediocre raise of ~3% over the past 3 years.
My experience with my immediate engineering managers has been great. However, it does not seem like that great management is reflected throughout the rest of the company. Many people are in management positions, who do not know how to manage people or directly cause conflicts throughout the company and with customers.

I'm working as Client Project Director Secretary in Technip France almost for 2 years and 4 months.
In Technip we are so busy and I learned many of things specially I'm with Technip side and client such as:

•System/Project Control Base System/Project Database/Vendor Document Base as filing system for the company.
•In-charge for all outgoing and incoming correspondence from client, vendors and other consortium group.
•Assist Engineers for all Engineering documents required for uploading in DDB.
•In-charge for video conference activity for Engineering & Project Management meeting.
•Handles petty cash fund and replenished for reimbursement.

•Performed other various related works as required by all project management team.
•Monitor the issuance of car keys allocated for the project to be use by the project team for site visits and meeting with clients.
•Make travel arrangements for Managing Director.
Company overall has a ton of potential but there are a few people that simply make this shop a horrible place to work. The first time I worked there the mentality was to blame the management, the second time I paid attention and believe that many of the problems were due to bad attitudes and individuals that believed they deserved money and positions regardless of their performance. Many of these individuals have hung around the company and sweet talked their way into keeping their jobs and due to the global labor shortage the company was happy to have people, regardless of their performance.
This location has a major issues with accountability and coworkers play the blame game like pros, running over "friends" at any chance. It's a shame this location has gotten so bad in such a short time.
Management looks away from many of these issues because they are "busy" and often convinces the workers to just grow up. In my experience management hires the loudest whiners not the best qualified. There are few growth opportunities due to playing favorites and management is completely out of touch from what people want when they come to work.
Workers beware. Looks good from the outside but this company is an episode of Jersey Shore. Many entitled coworkers always with their hands out wanting more for doing less.
Points positifsBenefits, friendships, the few people that are genuine who are mostly gone.
Points négatifsDog eat dog culture, management, pay, limited opportunities, good old boy mentality, clicks

Experiencing the technical status of the job was a new skill which opened my eyes up to the stars,t the quality of work and the degree of work took my skills to such a high level everything else became easier in life. Once you reach a status of confidence in your work your goal after that is to achieve more skills and strive to become a team leader or become a member of the team that is like a well oiled machine. Working with the company opened up so much possibilities in my life for the future of my family that it changed my life forever, I would recommend this style of life to all my friends and younger syblings, training my mind and heart was never easy but when you have the confidence to keep going with the people around you then you can achieve anything even in your darkest moments, some times the job makes you feel alone but you never will be a loner or alone because it didn't matter what ship you were on you always had someone willing to help you within the company even if the were never from your own country or place of birth. Learning everyday was the key aspect of my inspiration to achieve my goal for my career and my family, it was a honour to work for the company.
Everyday at Technip/Crestech Engineering is a very busy day, we have our clients coming in and of the building with me giving access cards to our clients, visitors, and vendors. With a warm reception coming from me with a smile on my face, am happy to receive and welcome them,I answer incoming and outing going calls ,transfer calls, receive mails and invoices from vendors and suppliers also Documents. Ours clients are (TOTAL,MOBILE, NIGERDOCK AND SUBSEA 7) This i listed are our clients, just to mention few.
What i learned from Technip/Crestech is how important our health, safety and environment are important to our employers,We have a yearly Program called PULSE Week. The management is very organized with excellence compliance to the regularities/ national bodies. My follow co-workers are very friendly we are like a family,We are One Technip. The hardest part of my Job is that is sit down for long, but that is good because I love to be of assistance to people around me. The most enjoyable part of my job is that am helpful to people, meet new people every day, listen and help find solutions for people with a cheerful and friendly manner. Thanks
I have a very comprehensive experience with this Company
This Company deals with Oil and Gas industry which my skill set were used to the full potential. I am working in this company for close to 14 years now, wearing many hats. When I came, Qatar Oil and Gas was not yet booming, and our staff was close to 50 people then. We reach 300 people during 2008, and declines now into 200 staffs. Currently, due to declining and retreating market forces worldwide in Oil and Gas industry, we are not busy at the moment. Besides, government of Qatar allocates most of their national budget for 2022 FIFA World Cup and Energy sector will be minimized for at least 5 years.
I learned a lot in terms of interacting with multi-cultural environment and the strategy of working is based on "different stroke with different folks."
There were no hardest part in my opinion in terms of job requirement, because it can always be done. It lies most of the time dealing with the client's assigned project management group that makes job more difficult..
The most enjoyable part of the job were when we accomplished project schedule within time frame and budget.
Points positifsComprehensive Salary Package, Health Insurance
Points négatifsLong hours without OT for some project that are behind schedule
Should be a great company to work for but it is ruined by its senior management
Technip is a global leader in SubSea Technology.
A typical day began for me at 07.00hrs and finished 16.00hrs, work hours being flexible which worked very well for a lot of staff.
Yes I learnt a lot about SubSea operations which tied in well with my Vessel operations and marine engineering superintendency experience.
Management was always in a state of flux. Several restructures took place during my tenure as Snr Planning Engineer but it was always the same faces that re-appeared with different titles. There was also a tier of totally inexperienced middle management which confounded the problem.
Work place culture was oppressive in the office.
The hardest part of the job was to instill change. Many multi million pound contracts were entered into with no direction or control in particular to cost or completion dates. This is one area that I did manage to change due to the introduction of effective planning and project controls.
The most enjoyable part of the job was to work on-site away from the office albeit very long hours on a regular basis.
Points positifsGood offices and facilities
Points négatifsWorrying levels of inexperience at management level
