Very motivating, full of technically skilled people
•a typical day at work: tax consultancy with respect to the corporate income tax, coordination of a big CEE project (of 6 countries) on daily basis, preparation of memorandums, tax calculations etc.
•management: mentoring of young colleagues, managing of projects - fieldworks on corporate tax returns of the clients
•your co-workers: half of my job is rather teamwork (usually team of 4 members, different project different people), however, another half of my job is rather individual
•the hardest part of the job: time-consuming - when e.g. two big projects meet at once, and also it is difficult to monitor legislative update on daily basis
•the most enjoyable part of the job: continuous development, it's not a stereotype, everyday dealing with different challenges and projects

Fast paced, lot of overtime during busy season. 996
Need to work on multiple engagements at the same time. Therefore, I need to prioritize and self manage my work.
There are also utilization target to meet which is not easy when you are in tax compare to audit group.
KPMG promote technology and innovations such as latest Office , PDF and other software. KPMG also continues to upgrade its audit and integrated web-based software to provide a better customer experience.
During the busy season, I had 9-9, 6 days working week. At the same time, I need to watch my time spend on a single file because you don't want to blow someone's budget and drag the ERP on that engagement.
Points positifsSummer splash means 4-day work week during July & Aug to make up the OT worked during Jan to June
Points négatifsLong hours and short turn-around time.

A productive and a fun place to work for
A typical day would start by planning the day and having a morning brief meeting with the departmental manager to check progress of work. Allocation of assignments and execution of work allocated.
I learnt how to be professional and gained practical technical work experience.
The work place culture was great and management was very supportive to all staff.
The most enjoyable part of the job was when the firm got recognized to be a platinum employee by the ACCA.
The hardest part was when a lot of members of staff left within a short time during a certain year.
Points positifsSupportive for career progression
Points négatifsNon that I can remember

Experience depends on area of expertise
Being assigned real estate and partnership entities, I was fortunate to prepare complex tax returns - federal and state - of clients with whom I could gain valuable insight into the intricacies of real estate development. I enjoyed this as one disadvantage of KPMG can be jumping from client to client without the satisfaction of getting to fully know the client.
Points positifsTax, audit and investment assignments
Points négatifsExtremely long work hours

A limited culture
The management did not offer ready advancement to new positions within the company. There was too much of a "good old boy" environment. There were too many "political" situations in this organization.
Points positifsClients were good to work with.
Points négatifsExtended work time with NO compensation for that extra time worked.

Billing base productive and cut throat competition.
Busy day. Management is very challenging. Work place culture is competitive. Hardest part is that you are on your toes. Most enjoyable part is that opens many opportunity doors.
Points positifsFree lunches if you work late.
Points négatifsShort breaks.

Great place to start a career, learn new things and meet many people.
Busy season is tough but the summer can be a bit relaxing depending on your position. Great management and people but working long hours can drain you out.

Great experience but very hard to have work life balance
Great people to work with and a lot of resources available within the company. It's a great experience for your career but it's very hard to have work life balance.

Colleagues are supportive. Good environment to grow professionally. Flexible working time. Recommend to be in the office twice a week. High demand. Heavy workload.
