Their business model is hiring accountants out of college, using them 60 hours/week, and hoping they leave. Their stated motto is "A great place to start a career" because its great to put a big 4 on your resume, but nobody stays very long.
There is no support to complete your CPA while working. You work far too many hours to study for the CPA exam. They won't pay for your CPA exam prep classes.
There is no autonomy in your job. After one year, our manager asked "what do we need to fix here to make next year better?" We had a meeting and made two pages of suggestions.... and then they never talked about it again. They fired us the next year for not improving anything. The replacements made the same suggestions.
They feed you dinner if you stay late; get the filet mignon, its excellent.
If you go on vacation, they approve it, but then harass you the day you get back "why did you go on vacation?"
One 17-year guy had two years of vacation rolling over and HR was forcing him to take days off, in winter, because you can't take days off during summer tax season.
The day after tax deadlines (Oct 15th) the manager will bring you a tiny, home-cooked cupcake with terrible icing. Treat it like its gold. Its some kind of stupid tradition to insult your staff with inedible food after major deadlines and Firm goals are met.
The day after you start, you'll be counting the days you can put on your resume until the day you leave.
They talk about the ea
My experience thus far has been average - 2.5 stars would better represent my rating. Unlike other places I have worked, I don't sense the level of cohesion within the Milwaukee tax group that I have previously experienced in public accounting and that I believe to be essential for maximum efficiency and productivity. The group seems disjointed and I believe the "we" and "team" mentality is absent. Furthermore, the Milwaukee tax group lacks the partner level of leadership that I very much need (and have previously had) at the level I am at in my career. As far as the audit and advisory partners/leaders in Milwaukee, I have had positive experiences similar to the very positive feeling from my exposure to tax partners and leaders in Chicago.
Good for people just after the cllege, NOT FOR experinced hires.
The company is the bottom of the big-four accounting firms. The cloture is just stupid (!!!) if you live in United States.
Management inefficiency.
Information Technology Inefficiency.
Process Inefficiency.
By People Process Technology, there are absolute problems on People and Process. The company has a business by being privileged to have customers, because of being independent accounting firm, which allowed by most democratic governments in the world.
Points positifsGood for new graduates to explore.
Points négatifsIT, business and the management executives are simply not working or inefficient.
Assist tax partners in Singapore tax assignments (planning and compliance) for corporate tax clients, including provision of tax compliance and advisory works for clients from a wide range of industries in both public and private sectors in Singapore. I learned so much and worked closely with top leadership right from day one. The partners that I worked with were very approachable and quite helpful. The projects were exciting and we were given plenty of opportunities to learn and gain excellent experience.
Unfortunately, the travel and long hours eventually clash with having a family and needing to be there for children's events.
Points positifsExcellent Learning Opportunities, Great Projects, Very Professional Individuals
productive and efficient work place with certain perspectives
A typical day at work consists of giving high-end tax advice to multinational groups. That is indeed what I have learned at KPMG Luxembourg, i.e. to deal with highly sophisticated tax structures within a very short time frame. The management is very skilled and always willing to support, if necessary. Nevertheless, the work can be done rather autonomously, what I highly appreciate. The co-workers are very skilled and always like a good colleague.

Much skills were gathered even time management as everyone was to account for his time. Professionalism was the order of the day but didn't like management style of managing an institution as an estate.
