productive and fun place
It goes without saying that KPMG is an environment that demands high levels of ambition and drive. But it’s not the case that working hard means you can’t also have a rewarding and successful personal life.
We want you to stay fit and healthy with plenty of energy and enthusiasm. It's an important part of life at KPMG and it also makes sense for us as a business.
Our remote working options enable KPMG people to work on the move, while traveling or from another location such as a client office or even from home. We understand that this level of flexibility is important and many member firms offer specialist technology to support you.
Flexible working options vary according to location but may include part-time work, flexitime, job sharing, compressed work week, telecommuting, career breaks and unpaid leave. And reducing your working hours or working flexitime does not mean saying good-bye to promotion either. Hundreds of highly successful KPMG people choose flexible working so they can spend more time with their family or develop other interests.
We’re pleased to support a healthy work-life balance in KPMG, because we know that they are good for you, and good for the business too.

Measure your results, not your time
The whole idea of working smarter rather than harder stems from the fact that many of us put in more and more hours only to find we don't get more done. That's why we want to find methods to be more productive in less time.
One way to do this is to adjust the way you measure productivity. If you evaluate yourself by what you actually get done rather than the time it takes to get something done, you'll start to notice a difference in how you work.
If I have a big project to complete, try breaking it down into "completable" sections. For instance, I like to break down my audit assignment into sections and small tasks. With a set of smaller tasks making up a big project, I can check off what I get done each day, even if it takes me many days to finish the whole assignment.

Good learning platform
A typical day at work involves managing and monitoring the overall audit engagement progress. We are required to display good time management skills so as to juggle between different engagements that we may be handling. Good leadership skills is a must to guide the team towards successful completion of the audit work given the tight deadline we are always subjected to.
The hardest part of the job is to manage client's relationship with the audit team as well as the long working hours we have to put in toe complete our work.
The most enjoyable part of the job is that we are able to meet new people when we are working on a new engagement. I also gain satisfaction upon completion of the audit work.
Points positifsWork flexibility, not so much of a desk-bound job
Points négatifsLong hours
One of the best firms to know how to hard work is, and learn fast.
I was from junior associate on the first year , to Senior associate on my third year, was the richest experience in my life.
I learned everything about financial statements, how to perform and audit, IFRS, US GAAP, GAAP, Taxes, i worked in different type of bussines like Oil and Gas, Manufacture, Wholesale, Retail, Non-Profit Organization, Bank.
The management always, try to get the most of you as a worker, but was good when you learned all the stuff really fast.
The hardest part of the job, was work 72 hours per week and travel about 60% of the time, but had a good memories about it.
The most enjoyable part of the job was my teamwork, they are a good people, who like what they do.
Points positifsFast learning, different type of bussines.

All i am today is due to my KPMG experience
Audit experience has taught me alot of things including how to manage work in team envoirnment, how to lead a team of about 15 to 20 people and how to encourage and motivate them to complete their work at their given time which is beneficial for their as well as my own rating within the company. I made lot of friends specially my juniors, They were quite satisfied with my behaviour with them and they used to like my company and the used to like working under my sepurviosion.
The hardest part of my job at KPMG was working late hours at night although i got used to it but still it was the hardest.
Points positifsCompany provided lunch, Company provided car
Points négatifsLate sittings, Distance from the immediate supervisor
Pros and cons for working with KPMG
The training program at KPMG is phenomenal. Every year they provide us with the tools we need to conduct an efficient audit. Typical hours for a senior associate during a non-busy season range from 45-55 hours. Busy season hours range from 50-90 hours. The hardest part of the job, is maintaining a healthy work life balance. Movement within the company is an option, but difficult to achieve. The employees of KPMG are amazing people to work with! Everyone is friendly and has a strong work ethic. The training provided makes KPMG an idealistic place to start your career. The work life balance makes it a difficult place to continue your personal life.
Overall, Not Bad
I started as an intern here, and worked my way up to Senior Associate. My time spent here has not been the best. The work/life balance is non-existent. You have no control over your life/schedule. You follow everyone else to the tee. It is hard to be an individual here. You are required to move as one. I will say, the perks and benefits are great, but if you value your personal life and aspirations, working for this Big 4 firm, may not be the best option. I am currently transitioning out of the firm. I can no longer spend 14+ hours a day, behind a computer, with no life.
Points positifsPerks and employee benefits
Points négatifsNo work life balance, no room for individuality, negative culture
Extremely professional place for working
