Professional environment with stringent communication at all times
On a daily basis, i will keep myself updated with the latest regulatory requirements under FATCA and CRS and the global developments surrounding tax transparency. This includes monitoring developments in OECD, United States, United Kingdom, Channel Islands, India, China, Korea, Hong Kong etc.
I have provided assistance in remediation services for private banks and to some of the larger local banks in Singapore.
The hardest part of the job is to stay updated in regulatory requirements when the regulations are not written in English. This involves regular communication with international KPMG firms to seek understanding on the requirements.

A solid option out of MBA for Strategy Consulting
Took this job out of MBA for the strategy consulting team. Generally was a positive experience, though at the end of the day it is still consulting and it is still pretty stressful. I liked the vast majority of the people I worked with, and benefits were very good. However, given the hours and the fact that the bonus was below market for the industry, I left after a couple years (though as a first job after MBA, given the above-average signing bonus, you come out in very solid shape on compensation).
Points positifs5 weeks PTO and you're not penalized in utilization for taking it
Points négatifsYou're still in an accounting company, some structural immaturity within strategy, and bonus was below market

A work play and learning culture at KPMG
We use to start out day with e mail sorting and replying, based on the amount of work i plan my day for the volume of work that i have to accommodate. The most enjoyable part of my job is challenge that is to finish the job within the allocated time and resources and providing value added services to clients like financial reporting services to clients. Sometimes with my co-workers we plan swimming and fun times so we can relax and maintain the work life balance.

Hard Working Young Culture with Transparent Promotion Tracks
KPMG is a good place to start your professional career. You will work hard during busy seasons, but you will also have a clear promotional track and will be surrounded by a younger culture. Those that flourish at KPMG are individuals who aren't afraid to perform above their titles.
Points positifs5 Weeks of PTO
Points négatifsJudged on Utilization, which is affected by PTO

A great place to jump-start your career.
The workplace culture was fantastic both in KPMG Saudi and Jordan. Just like any other consulting job, the work/life balance is questionable. The learning curve was steep at first but then it plateaued. However, I believe its due to market conditions in the Mid East that vary drastically from market conditions in North America.

Good place to work
KPMG Pakistan pays you around 6000 to 15000 salary when you work as an associate for 3 years and there is a lot of work pressure which isn't suitable for this salary.
But a good place to gain experience for your future jobs.
Points positifsWorldwide connections

Federal Intel Advisory Practice sucks
Not the most ideal place to grow professionally. A lot of politics involved when it comes to round table for promotion and salary increase. You get penalized for seeking to grow and try new field within the firm.
