Productive
I work for two large teams in an extremely busy tax department. My role is varied with tasks such as e-travel, diary management, billing, typing of letters, reports, producing PowerPoints and arranging seminars.
Outside my core role I am a Charity Champion, this involves communicating to the entire Birmingham office, arranging charity events/seminars and being responsible for the collecting and banking funds.
Working for a large company and the roles I undertake, I have learned to communicate to a wider audience, be part of a larger team of individuals and have become experienced with a wide range of systems.
I work closely with my co-workers to ensure that we all have good working relationships, this enables us to assist each other and cover in their absence.
I arrange regular meetings with my core departmental managers, this not only maintains a good working relationship but also gives me an understanding of what they’re currently working on and discuss ways in which I can lighten their workload.
I would say the hardest part of my role would be working with individuals who are not team players but I work to overcome this by having regular meetings.
I enjoy the variety of my core and non-core roles and getting involved with events both inside and outside of work

Job Culture and People
welcomed with a team of 20 professionals who taught me to manage my day at work better with all the knowledge and expertise they had to share with me. A typical day for me would be a very busy one as supporting and tending to the needs of 20 executives is a challenge in itself. I learned risk procedures, world checks and an over all cycle of client assessment followed by KPMG global. The more systematized approach of handling work made me feel so much in control as i love a place that drives by a system.
The work culture was great and most time it was flexible to the employees needs. Everyone worked together. The most challenging part of my job was time management, as everyone was important and everything was urgent, but i managed everyday. The most enjoyable part was making friends like family and having lunch with them and participating in all the fun activities conducted by KPMG.
Overall it was a great experience.

The boss's right hand. I loved this job. It was varied and interesting and the interaction with colleagues, many of whom I am still in contact, was great. This was the first time in the auditing environment and I found it very rewarding. I had the best bosses in the department and worked in a wonderful office in the Carlton Centre - 46th floor - with the best view possible.
I was given the opportunity to change my career and advance to a more responsible position which I grabbed with open arms. I started the National Marketing Dept with a great leader, under the supervision of one of the directors I worked with (as a secretary).
Hardest part of the job: I can't remember there ever being one.
Most enjoyable part of the job: Doing something I loved and had studied for in college. My secretarial diploma finally paid off.
Points positifsLovely offices with the best views and working with professionals
Points négatifsCan't think of any right now.

Productive and fun workplace with a football table
No day is the same at the KPMG office, that's way all days are fun days. In this company I have learned how to prioritize and delegate when responsibilities are not relevant to my work package. Our work culture is business-like, but still down to earth. There is no hard part in my work, I find my profession awesome. What I like most of the job. Is that I manage 3 agendas of 3 partners so, no workday is the same.
Points positifsThe employment conditions, the staff parties and benefits such as sports pass, company car and bonus profit distribution.

Many many years ago and still as busy today
I worked here as a secretary many years ago. We had 6 secretaries rammed into a tiny room, one of which was not easy to get along and you're stuck with them day in day out!. It's probably changed in that respect but as to the job we were inundated. Looking at the job spec now it's just as bad. They pile the work on you... tons to type, phones constantly ringing, no time to even get a cup of tea. Day in day out you'll be worked to be bone for that salary. Don't say I didn't warn you! Just look at the list of duties!

Supportive
A normal day in KPMG is full of fun, busy but always enjoyable. I have learned new skills such as CRM and SAP also strengthen my MS skills.
My manager was always supporting me and able to resolve any issue that i might have, my team was constantly working as one and helping each other.
They were always asking me for help as i was always able to help them and share my skills with them.
Sometimes I had to work under pressure to be able to meet a deadline and I always push myself to meet it,

Friendly staff throughout
Enjoyed all aspects of work within KPMG. The culture is amazing and all staff are friendly and welcoming. No two days were same and was fast paced but work was extremely enjoyable. All fee earners showed gratitude for every task you carried out for them. Was sorry to leave but had to accept new format that was put in place when company decided to move their business support down South.
Points positifsGood canteen and lunch subsidised

No a great place to work
I've had issue after issue since starting this job and only took it initially because is was permanent and I had been temping for 5 years previously.
The pay is awful and doesn't get better with longevity. The other benefits like pension and bonus is good but it doesn't make up for the appalling wage.
Points positifs£3.20 per day for your lunch
Points négatifsThe lunch allowance can only be spent in the canteen and it's awful and massively overpriced!!!
