Very professional work environment
The most enjoyable part of the position was learning from very intellegent people, namely those to whom I reported to: PMO, Director of IT and Infrastructure, and the Director of QA.
The hardest aspect of the position was the learning curve of new software used internally by KPMG-US.
My daily tasks and responsibility included, but were not limited to:
-Managing and assisting in various internal work streams relating to QA deliverables, reports, and plans; Process and Requirements documents; working with Orion (KPMG vendor) QA leads and organizing deliverables from various teams into SPS.
-Working in HP ALM software as a QC Administrator to add and maintain list items and users on request; help create new QC Project Databases for new projects; create/maintain public queries and reports in QC for all product defects and requirements.
-Performed the file copy and posting process as needed for GSC Audit country test, production, or limited deployments.
-Project Lead for mapping and assessing the KPMG Infrastructure Portal based on the ITIL (Information Technology Information Library) Framework.
-Assisting in the deployment of GSC Audit product build releases and monitored all business end users to ensure proper functionality of the release.

Excellent Support from Seniors and Managers
The Federal advisory practice in KPMG is a great place to work. I worked under their Federal IT audit sector during my time there. I received tremendous support from the engagement senior during my first year and I've learned a lot from him. All the people that I have met and worked with were knowledgeable, friendly, and supportive.
Points positifsPTO, supportive colleagues
Points négatifsLong hours during busy season

Great Company but little work life balance
I enjoyed working at KPMG as the culture is very modern, the employees are young, and the benefits are great. The lack of work life balance is my main con. You can work many hours during busy season and over the weekend without getting paid overtime and the expectations sometimes are to stay within a small budget even when work loads are way more.
Points positifsFlexibility as you move up in the firm
Points négatifsWork life balance low

Busy but worth it
I worked at KPMG as an intern and worked my way up the ranks to manager. The KPMG Portland, OR team is amazing and honestly a wonderful place to work.
Yes - the work hours can be terrible and the clients can be a pain, but overall it was a great experience with great local leadership and a lot of potential for career advancement.

Good start / tough to stay
Great place to start a career. The people are great but the nature of the industry and job make it tough to stay and be happy. You can really only learn by being on real projects which is stress full and time consuming for everyone.
Points positifsPeople are great
Points négatifsNature of the work and long hours.

Great opportunity for vertical mobility, touch work-life balence
KPMG provides a great foundation for learning and career advancement. There are endless resources and opportunities at anyone's hands. However, the work-life balence is pretty bad, and only gets worse as you move up the corporate ladder.

Great perks but work life balance is hard
KPMG is a great place to get your feet wet and start a career. I learned a lot and enjoy working here. In my opinion, work life balance is extremely difficult. I enjoy my co-workers and the perks such as insurance, 401k and etc.

Very Productive workplace.
KPMG is one of the big 4. I have joined this firm at the beginning of my career and it was a great experience. I have participated in many missions in several sectors. I was part of the financial audit team and i was in charge of the Information security reviews.
