Check and deal with emails - prioritising workload and "To-do list", diary management, catch up with the Head of Space Management and Team Leader. Managing and updating database, arrange meetings, hospitality, book travel/hotel accommodation, project budget management, assist with powerpoint presentations, liaise with contractors, suppliers, issuing purchase orders and approving invoices for payment, attend meetings and take minutes and distrubtion of minutes, follow up on actions. Attention to detail, time management, my role was vital to the success of the team/department.
Management encourage staff to promote themselves by taking training courses, and add value to the company. Rated one of the best employers to work for, transparency is encouraged at all levels. An equal opportunities employer with a great set of values.
My co-workers are all extremely professional in their approach to their work and colleagues alike. Friendly, and a privilage to work with.
The hardest part of my job was probably filing, only becuase of the volumne but a vital part of any job.
I enjoyed all of the job because of the variety of work, but I especially liked to be assigned a project I could take responsibility for and the challenge it represented and problem solving.
Points positifsperformance related bonus scheme, subsidised promotional offers, subsidised lunch, pension scheme, interest free travel allowance, awards for services above and beyond the call of duty.

A growth promising company
It has been a great privilege to work an be a team member of KPMG - Kuwait.
The company has been very fair to all its employees always. Great benefits like increments every year, air ticket to your home country and medical insurance have always been great motivational tools.
I've learnt in plenty from professionals to manage time and deal with colleagues of different mind set in very diplomatic manner.
My most enjoyable part of the job was the never ending learnings and trainings provided by the company in-house.

People-friendly place to work
KPMG is in principle a good place to work and looks well after its employees, however pay for support staff is not too great, and career progression is minimal at the moment, unless you take a total career change. Sometimes you feel support staff are not valued enough for the job they do and workload can be too high. However, it's the people who work there who make it a good place to work. And once you settle in, the dress code is pretty relaxed, unless you are in a client-facing role.

Varied roles and supportive company
Fast paced and busy dealing often with several tasks all at once. I learned to be organised and efficient
Staff were encouraged to get involved in support networks and I was chair of the Workability Network which worked to improve the number of individuals with additional needs that were employed by the company and also to help staff with additional needs to be able to fulfil their roles and their potential

Great team
Upside - Throughout my time I worked in a great team, everyone’s as willing to help each other out.
Downside - If you wanted to progress it had to be outside of business support. Also the goal setting and yearly reviews were only beneficially to those not in the firm a long time.

Too many layers of hierarchy
Usual secretarial duties in a Big 4 accountancy firm. Not keen on the layers of hierarchy and management.
Otherwise ok firm to work for but salary could be higher for what we do
Points positifsBenefits + free lunch
Points négatifsSalary not very competitive
