Good place to work where you can learn a lot; however it doesn't have work-life balance
KPMG is overall a good place to work, most people are really nice and there is a sense of team spirit, though sometimes it is difficult to put it in practice because in the area where I was (Corp Comms) a lot of different teams are interrelated and there is a sense that whenever something gets wrong it's important to blame someone.
My job consisted on managing a lot of projects at the same time and with constant deadlines, so it's important to always prioritize and keep your mind cool under stress. A typical day of work for me consisted of probably going to one event or to a media location, then trying to get some things done on the computer and some meetings with my colleagues. Also, taking interview requests on the phone and interacting closely with the partners was part of my day.
The hardest part of the work is to cope with so much things to do. Normally my working day would be of 10-13 hours, including some work at weekends. So normally I was drained out and exhausted at the end of the day and the week. They should hire more people if they see there is so much work to get done and everything is important.
The best part of my job was my function and the activities I developed. Being given ownership of the projects almost immediately and empowerment is great, specially when you're still on a learning-curve where is important to make mistakes and learn. I liked being in contact with the media, managing corporate messages and being able to advise the partners.
