underpaid overworked
Audit function (year 2020):
you know the meme that 'if you do a good job, you get to do other people's job too'? yup. thats KPMG; incompetence gets rewarded. hardworking competent individuals suffer with heavy workload and are slowly decreasing in numbers due to this reason (all are leaving the firm)
KPMG SG is slowly being overtaken by mid joiners from different firms and malaysia, with these experienced hires bringing in their 'face time' culture (where online = hardworking), without getting anything done. These mid-joiners are diluting the friendly culture KPMG once had.
you will have to protect yourself a lot, as there are a lot of finger pointing when anything goes wrong. there is no clear line on what your job scope is, reiterating again that if you show a bit of competence, you basically just do everything.
despite audit being essential, partners are cutting our pay in the form of deferred promotion. there is no clear direction of what their response given the covid-19 pandemic. partners themselves say that the audit function is doing well, but then conveniently said that they are not 'meeting targets' when deciding to defer promotion.

7 star service to clients
At KPMG, we represent the KPMG blue print everywhere we go. We strive to deliver a 7 star service to all our clients.
Every morning, when you wake up, you wake up with a purpose. You ask youself a question: why am i waking up this morning?
We fill ourselves with positive energy, create a great first impression, keep ourselves updated and make the most of every day. We work with the client and deliver an independent solution and services.
Our goal is to add value to the client, work with the client, make the client accountable, leave the KPMG touch, a personal touch and more importantly we keep the fire burning.
We work as a team to deliver a high performance across all levels of services. We motivate and help each other. There is a culture of open communication that I value much.
The hardest part of the job is dealing with non cooperative clients.
The most enjoyable part of the job is to know that the client is happy with the audit and work done and that they rate you 10/10.
Adding value and cutting through complexity is what I live for.
Points positifsTrainings and career development
Points négatifsDealing with non objective people.

Productive and hardworking atmosphere
Perfect atmosphere for work surrounded by professional, well experienced and eager to help employees.
I have learnt a lot in such short period such as book keeping, recording information, creating, maintaining and entering information into database, complete forms in accordance with company procedures.
A typical day at work would be filled with high energy and hardworking atmosphere plus surrounded by professionals including well organized management and co-workers which gives you the motive to work hard from your heart without anyone telling you to do your part.
the most enjoyable part of the job is that personally I really enjoyed what I did and hopefully what ill do in the future as an auditor I just love what I do which is rare these days.

No life work balance but productive
Management - If targets are not reached, a randomly selected lower staff member get their performance rating reduced. The more you offer personal favours, offering to collect dry cleaning, coffee.... The safer your rating.
Hardest - Long work hours and lack of team work due to the type of culture.
Culture - does not promote team work, its more of a fight your way to the top at the expense of your friendships, colleagues....
Cost cutting before delivery of service, if you service driven you feel your integrity is compromised.
Enjoyable - There is plenty to learn, each day there is something new. Even though the hours are long and there's no work life balance you able to with in reason restructure your day (14 hour days)
Learnt - Hard work is rewarding and you feel like you've contributed to society in a way.
