During my tenure at KPMG, my primarily job role as a team member on various consulting assignments across India and Africa was to work with middle and lower level client management on improving their business processes. This involved extensive meetings with clients to understand their business and operational processes, either related to the entire organization or a specific function within an organization. I then analyzed the business process, applying quantitative analysis where possible and provided recommendations on how the process could be improved in order to achieve the output in a more efficient manner. Additionally, I also worked with clients on setting up entire departments within their organization. This taught me how to think about a business issue in a structured manner. Further, it gave me an in-depth view into the complexities of organizations and how business processes fit into the bigger picture. Through these projects, my data analysis skills were strengthened. I learnt how to use Excel and Access to analyze large amounts of data and provide relevant output. Furthermore, I developed excellent client management skills through the combination of meeting deadlines and client commitments. This also strengthened my business communication skills and I developed the ability to be clear and concise while communicating in a professional environment.
When I was not working on client assignments, I worked with KPMG senior management on their business development init

Overall a good company, but personally had a bad experience
I think one's experience at the organisation totally depends on the team one is plotted to. I was part of a team that worked long hours and on weekends. There were members from other teams taking weekends off and very good work-life balance.
Apart from work-life balance, I did not have a very good experience with the local management. I got insulted from my superior (sometimes even at a personal level) irrespective of my quality of work at least once a week on an average. The more disappointing part was that I did not get any support from the local HR team, and I only became a scapegoat at their hands. I could not see the local HR having any authority in this regard; they were under constant pressure from the managers.
Although it was not the best experience for me at KPMG, I would definitely recommend the company to someone because as an organisation, it has a very good work culture and a heeding top management.
People are always stressed. The only thing that the company cares about is making their clients happy at the cost of their own employees slogging for endless hours. Not a good environment, the managers are selfish and not very people friendly. The pay is not that great as compared to the work put in. The top management is not very approachable
The HR didn’t even take exit interview because I guess they know what kind of reviews they will get.
No recreational activities for employees . Even if they do have things managers don’t let the team attend that. No Diwali celebrations , promotion parties or anything
Points positifsNothing that I remember of
Points négatifsExtreme long hours to the extend you’ll go mental probably, The management unfortunately doesn’t see its own employees as an asset, No over time pay or benefits for working long hours, The IT structure sucks, managers are not friendly and have unreal expectations
Brilliant environment to work filled with a lot of fun and self building activities.
I have definitely evolved as a human being working with KPMG. It does reflect a lot on your personality as it is very balanced and professional environment. Alongside working, I have also been a part of KPMG's cricket team and Social Service team which helped me develop outside the workplace. The management was incredible which helped me learn a lot of skillsets and climb the ladder with immense knowledge and incredible relationship building skills as it is a very open environment to develop yourself. There were so many fun activities which includes ping pong, carrom, celebrating all the festivals together as a family. I'd definitely recommend KPMG to all the folks trying to look out for jobs in today's market.
KPMG Management consulting-SAP practice - Unprofessional set up
SAP practice in KPMG is very raw and unprofessional set up and it is poorly managed by partner who is inexperienced in SAP.
Partners are only meant for exploiting consultants and they do not know anything about SAP, project management.
They do not have any long term vision to make successful practice and they always treat experienced professionals very rudely.
Will suggest experienced people to avoid SAP practice in KPMG as they will treat you badly and exploit you for to their benefit to keep them intact in Partnership position.
Points positifsNot specific
Points négatifsSAP practice - Avoid to join it as leaders are horrible and unprofessional
KPMG is a organisation where you can explore for various opportunities in the fields of Auditing, Accounting, Taxation, Advisory, Due-diligence, Corporate finance and so on.
Its a great learning place as mostly you will be working with Chartered Accountants, MBA and people from other professional backgrounds. Also the clients that KPMG has are generally well known listed entities, where it becomes a rich learning experience.
The management is focused and is quiet sure where it wants to take the organisation.
The people culture is really good and something which you will not find at any other organisation.
KPMG work culture is good. The operation system is competely different from that i had experienced in my previous organisation. I was able to learn and adapt to the new environment quite easily. The team members are good and cooperative. Though this Job has its own share of stress, short timlines and multiple targets. But it is all acheivable since you will get team support whenever needed. My Job was to provide on Job assistance to entire team in any matter that will smoothen completion of work.
Points positifsWork Culture, Great Rapport with Immediate bosses, Appreciation
you will never get bored to work in KPMG, trust me NEVER!!!!! always fun to work at. 5 days in a week tremendous work pressure but luckily i had a very good team so working till late was never an issue. Management was a bit tough to handle, but its the same story in all the organisation. Team members were very supportive and ready to work on any sort of project. The toughest of the job was we sometimes has to work on weekend which was intimated at the last minute. so due to client commitment there was never a NO coming out of the mouth.
