Avis généraux sur l'entreprise KPMG (Minneapolis, MN)
2,0
Job without challenge with poor upper management, assured of certain hours without ever mentioning a relocation. Great co-workers.
As has been typical of Big Four public accounting firms, the hours were many more than I had been told they would be - 60 hours a week. Shortly after joining the firm, I was asked to begin helping the Kansas City and Omaha. I was asked to begin flying to Kansas City bi-monthly and it ws likely thst I would be asked to relocate.
Aside from the forementioned, the Partner I reported to, waa located in California resulting in lack of mentor, guidance and ability to understand the volume of the workload and the enviroment of both our specialty area and the office
Points positifsco-workers
Points négatifspoor upper management

Great People
Of all the Big 4 firms I've worked for or had as my auditor, KPMG stands out as the most pleasant of them all. The culture is one that includes, not ostracizes it's staff, seniors and managers. As a leader in the firm, I was given carte blanche access to whatever I needed to improve the lives of the staff/seniors/managers working the very long hours during the first few years of SOX attest.
Like all Big 4 firms, your rise and support in the Firm is wholly dependent on your Partner counselor who can make or break your rise.

Big Four Accounting
You work relatively long hours during busy season, but have more flexibility as you become more experienced within the Company. Audit was a great place to start my career, but gets monotonous after a few years.
Points positifsWork alongside many other young professionals, plenty of team events, significant opportunities to lead internal/external projects, exposure to senior level executives
Points négatifsRelatively long hours, most career big 4 audit lifers have a boring personality

High level of fast paced servive required. Accounting and tax knowledge a definite plus.
This was a very challenging environment with high performance expectations. Accounting service experience very helpful and wide variety of support roles required. Good people, most partners great to work with and very demanding.
Points positifsSome free lunches, great benefits and perks.
Points négatifsVery high level and demanding

Excellent learning opportunities with a difficult work-life balance.
The firm is an excellent place to launch a career because of it's focus on teaching and providing vast exposure to all types of business entities and areas. As with most public accounting firms, there is room for improvement in work-life balance, especially during tax season.

Good place to start a career, very demanding but a lot to learn in a short time
KPMG was a great place to start an accounting career out of college. The work was demanding but the firm had a lot of activities to keep things fun. You’ll learn a lot and meet a lot of great contacts to help you later in your career.

Great place to learn and many opportunities for advancement
KPMG is a great place to learn a lot in a short amount of time. You'll get exposure to many different clients and a lot of complex tax technical topics. However, work life balance is super difficult to maintain especially during busy seasons.

Great Entry Level Position
You have to be willing to work a lot. Busy season hours (60+ a week billed to the client), summer hours (40-45/week), if you're lucky. KPMG offers a lot of training and community involvement.
Points positifsBenefits (lots of paid time off), Training, Company Brand
Points négatifsNo work-life balance
