Avis généraux sur l'entreprise KPMG (Glasgow)
Assistant Manager | Glasgow
| 28 nov. 2018
I eventually resigned from the boys club where men get promoted 10 times faster and are treated infinitely better than women. Long hours under immense pressure are expected, with very little thanks and they will find any excuse to get out of paying bonuses or salary increases to anybody below senior management.
To be fair, I believe other areas of KPMG (eg audit and tax) have much better cultures but avoid restructuring at all costs if you are female and have any sort of career aspirations except to get it on your CV.
Points positifsLooks good on your CV, learn a lot
Points négatifsPoor progression, boys club, poor pay
KPMG Glasgow is not a good place to work. They are too arrogant to accept when they are making mistakes. Client was never satisfied.
KPMG Glasgow is not a good place to work. They are too arrogant to accept when they are making mistakes. Client was never satisfied. KPMG also made a simple task looked complex. The rate of staff turnover is ridiculously high. About 4 staffs resign every week but KPMG still didn't care as they believe people are on waiting list to join the firm.

Productive and fun workplace
management were fine, liked hot desk operation (laptop in locker, could sit at a different desk everyday). The hardest part was the process of everyone had an input i.e. I complete, someone else reviews, someone second reviews etc. Some sets of accounts were submitted on the last day possible.
Points positifsSmall Business accounting were what I had done before
Points négatifsTemp job that never turned permanent

Very poor exprience all round. Politics around perm staff. They recruit black people and enslave them. Dpnt follow thier own policies because they are kpmg. Blatant and blunt racism is present. Putting people on plans because you are black yet a white counterpart gets away with doing nothing. Napatistic management complain so we can manage you out the buisness. Just a poor exprience all round
Great place to work
Working for KPMG was fabulous as we all worked extremely well together from Telephony , SME, Analyst making the customer experience an easier journey making sure all information was correct and relevant.
Also working in the beautiful refurbished offices was so nice and the breakout area where you could relax and enjoy lunch with colleagues .
Points positifsfree tea, coffee and hot chocolate

One of the worst places I have worked at. Literally have you working like robots. Management on the aml kyc project don’t have any people skills. Training was none existent. Continuously talk down at you. They love putting people on reports. No well done when you have done a good job. Literally not worth working here. The pay is not good and the holiday pay is never included.
Points négatifsMy whole experience
Poor company doesn't live up to standards
I have been played around with in the role and the job I was doing has become more stressful and more is required of us out with my role to meet client requirements but no relative increase in pay. Management is poor to say kindly communication in the office is nonexistent.
The environment was very easy to work in and helped me feel comfortable and calm when dealing with tasks. The management team were very helpful when i became stuck on a task and advanced my problem solving skills and my technological skills.
Points positifs£3.50 lunch allowance each day.
Points négatifsLocation was hard to get to.

The supposed team manager was quite difficult to understand and to me demonstrated poor knowledge of the work.
We did not hit it off and this was the reason I decided not to stay
Rest of the staff were supportive and helpful.
Points positifsCo workers

Not the best
Worked as a temporary worker in their outsourced project for a high street bank. Poor training, expected you to do three jobs at once when you had no idea about the systems and rude management. Gave you the minimum breaks legally entitled to, poor culture, worse job I've ever had.
