Avis généraux sur l'entreprise KPMG (Edinburgh)

Great place to work
Fantastic organisation which will present you with myriad opportunities for growth. Great salary, benefits, and wonderful people. You will be expected to work a lot, and the job generally can't get done unless you do, so work life balance is poor. Can be worth it for the perks for a while, but it all depends on each person's priorities. You won't have much free time, but at least when you do you'll have money to spend. Supportive management and team culture.
Points positifsGreat vacation, amazing opportunities to work around the world, support in pursuing accountancy accreditation, job growth and job security, always new challenges, great people and management, interesting clients
Points négatifsLong hours, poor work life balance, busy season is often a constant

Excellent Employment Opportunity
I really loved working at KPMG and the only reason I have left is due to contract stipulations regarding the exam attempts at obtaining the CA qualification.
The average work day was varied and could shift from preforming research to answer a client query, communicating with authorities and talking with clients.
The workplace was relaxed but everyone was expected to contribute and do the best they could be. At all levels a commitment to do the best for the client and the employees existed. There was constant training and advancement opportunities.
Points positifsExenstive and constant training and learning opportunites
Points négatifsLong hours at times

Friendly staff throughout
Enjoyed all aspects of work within KPMG. The culture is amazing and all staff are friendly and welcoming. No two days were same and was fast paced but work was extremely enjoyable. All fee earners showed gratitude for every task you carried out for them. Was sorry to leave but had to accept new format that was put in place when company decided to move their business support down South.
Points positifsGood canteen and lunch subsidised
Points négatifsHard working but enjoyable

Good starting place
Was able to develop my accounting knowledge however regularly had to work long hours to keep on top of workloads due to unrealistic deadlines and budgets set my management. Kpmg pays for your training for professional qualifications however it is very cut throat as your training contract is terminated if you fail the resit of an exam regardless of how close.

Good for the CV
Good for the CV but a difficult place to have a work-life balance. Flexible working is available but it will effect your ability to progress in the company. Very late hours (unpaid) are expected of you regularly. Bonuses are around one months pay if you're lucky.
