Avis généraux sur l'entreprise KPMG (Denver, CO)
The greatest public accounting firm to work at
Excellent hands on training, amazing training program providing opportunity to travel and stay in the best hotel! Fun and outstanding team members and clients to work with and learn from, flexible working arrangement and well structured management. The hardest part of the job, I suppose, was the long hours during busy season but as the time was very efficiently spent, days went very fast. The most enjoyable part of the job is to see the final product of our engagement and see our client to publish their annual 10-K report to the SEC!
Points positifsEncouraging environment for learning and asking questions, supportive management and team members, great overtime meals!
Points négatifsParking issue when working at Denver downtown locations
Great People, hard work
Busy seasons can be difficult, a good deal of turnover at the management level caused a large break in communication and goodwill. Employees were often pigeon-holed and stuck working for one client or partner. Not enough exposure to different managers and partners. Partners not involved in the employee process enough to make the decisions regarding their employees that they do. Too much of the process is filtered through a manager without nearly enough hands on discussions with employees. Partners become invisible until deadlines or special events, but more day to day contact and understanding of their employees would go a long way.

Typical Administrative Assistant
A typical day at work would be creating and updating complex spreadsheets and alter formulas for pre-prepping billing data reconciliation spreadsheets. I enjoy preparing and working with spreadsheets.
The most enjoyable part of the job is working with each individual in the International Tax department. The Tax Admin Assistants at KPMG work as a team. We support each other and are willing to help each other to meet deadlines.

KPMG is a great place to work. You get the chance to work with intelligent, experienced, and motivated professionals every day. The work can be demanding and tough, but the value you receive and amount you learn on the job is well worth the time invested. KPMG does a good job trying to give each employee the flexibility to maintain proper work life balance, though long hours are unavoidable. I believe KPMG has a great culture, and really cares about their work and the clients we serve.
Fun workplace, nice employee luncheons, received awards for high achievements
the average day at work was 8-9 hours
i learned a variety of new software skills from graphic designers and word processors
workplace culture was relaxed, very good team to work with out of the 450 employees in total
there wasn't that many hard parts of the job
I enjoyed utilizing my desktop publishing and graphics skills which is what I went to college for
I did learn so much at KPM G
Points positifsGreat people, the work was creative and fun
I was there for just a short time but liked the people in my department.
I learned how very serious accountants are.
Most of management was very nice, some a little quirky, but all in all great to work with. The company knew how to deal with morale when it was low. They had fun in many ways.
I really liked my co-workers we all got along well.
The hardest part of my job was learning the acronyms of business.
The recognition programs they would come up with.
Points positifsCould be fun at times.
Points négatifsSerious personalities
Mostly positive culture, but draining work life balance
I stayed as long as I did because of the people. Almost everyone I worked with I thoroughly enjoyed. It was a work hard play hard environment, however, once COVID 19 hit the 'fun'/ worthwhile aspects of the job disappeared. I put way too much time and energy into a job that I didn't receive any fulfillment for and wasn't passionate about.
Points positifsAbility to work your way up
Points négatifsWork/Life balance
Great training ground for new accountants
Fun place to work, although it was a lot of hours during busy season. Easier to handle the work when your single, not so much fun when you have a family.
Great place to launch your career even if your are not going to stay in public accounting.
Points positifsGreat people to work with, good training
Points négatifslong hours
No culture work-a-holics
KPMG is trying hard to pretend to support culture, but fails in all the important ways. As a developer who's company was acquired by KPMG I have found it very hard to fit in in such a way that I can actually get my work done. The red tape gets in the way of everything.
Points positifsJob Security, Benefits
Points négatifsPoor work life balance
Fast Paced never ending work
You are always sitting at your desk hours and hours but they try to keep employees happy for this reason. They do well at it and it would all be fine if management style was better for each group.
Points positifsFree lunches, snacks, ping pong table, a lot of work events
Points négatifsBonuses, long work hours, downtown location
